mother's day

Because he isn't busy enough Guillermo del Toro has decided to take on the producer role for a new CG animated flick titled "Day Of the Dead". Jorge R. Gutierrez will direct the love story in the vein of "Romeo and Juliet" set against a Mexican “Day of the Dead” backdrop. That "Haunted Mansion" flick is still happening, right? I've been excited about that for over a year now and I'm starting to get a little pissy.

I have no idea what this means but I bet Casey is going to be as giddy as a school girl about it. Hammer Films has decided to open their script archive to the public. So I guess that means we can go there and just start reading stuff? I haven't watched a lot of their movies but from what I can gather the best part of them is the girls with all their parts hanging out so I'm not really sure how reading is going to make me happy.

Set your hunk-o-meter to stun folks because it's been confirmed that Michael Fassbender will in fact star in Ridley Scott 's next film which is titled "The Counselor". The movie is about a big time lawyer who gets mixed up with the drug selling business... and then aliens attack everyone. That last part isn't true but the thing sounds kind of boring right now so I hope they're open to suggestions.

If you kids can remember all the way back to our "Mother's Day" remake episode then you know the gang was all pretty positive on the film. I think. Honestly I can't remember back that far but let's just go with it. The point is the Darren Lynn Bousman film finally has a release date of May 8th for DVD and Blu-Ray and will also be getting a limited theater run starting May 4th. May the 4th be with you! I wonder if they thought of that when the picked the date. Man I hope so. I love that crap.

Troma, mommy issues, and the latest internet prank sweeping the nation...

Hey do you like sexy ladies doing sexy dances? Sure, we all do! Well here's a new clip from "Mother's Day" which not only has that but also some creepy looking guys enjoying the show said sexy girl played by Briana Evigan is putting on. "Mother's Day" has no specific release date but should see the light of day sometime before the end of the summer. You should have read this entire post in the voice of Sally Struthers.

If there's one thing that "Repo! The Genetic Opera" taught us it's that not even Bill Moseley can save a crappy movie. But none the less he's been cast in the upcoming film "Leatherface 3D" in the role of Drayton, a nod to the role Jim Siedow played in the first two Texas Chainsaw films. So maybe old Billy boy can make this one magical. Maybe the next "2001 Maniacs" will win an Oscar, too.

I've never hid the fact that I believe Dennis Quaid is a cold blooded killer in real life. So I like to think the new movie "Beneath the Darkness" is something of a cry for help from the people in Hollywood who know the truth. In the movie Quaid plays a local hero who is actually turns out to be a psychopathic killer. This might be a documentary.

And lastly here's a new trailer for "Cowboys & Aliens" which hits theaters on July 29th. The trailer is chock full of, you guessed it, aliens and cowboys. Not necessarily in that order. But there's also about a half second shot of what looks to be a nude Olivia Wilde. Or it might of been Giada De Laurentiis from The Food Network. I always get those two mixed up.

Sir Kevin Smith plans on trimming about 10 minutes of film from "Red State" before he hits the road on March 5th to screen the film to select audiences. With ticket prices for the screenings running anything from $50 to $125 I'm going to go ahead and say I don't give a crap how bad the movie is you leave in every freakin second of it before it turns out people are paying 100 bucks for a crappy 12 minute opus.

Wait a second isn't there already a remake of "Mother's Day" coming out"? What the hell is "Father's Day"? Where did this teaser come from? Who are these people? What are you doing Troma? Father get raped in this movie? What the hell is going on!? Where am I?

Good news everyone in Chicago, "Evil Bong 3D: The Wrath of Bong" will premier there on 4/20 (get it!?) and will feature "Sniff-O-Rama". What that pretty much means is the good people from Full Moon will give out a bunch of scratch-n-sniff cards when you go to see the movie and you can pretend like you're in the movie. I'm just guessing here but I'm thinking 95% of the cards will smell like weed.

What's got two thumbs and is only 85% sarcastic about being excited for "The Roommate" this Friday? This guy! Try not being fired up after checking out the 3 news clips from the movie that have hit the tubes. Just try you monsters!

This isn't a trailer for the "Mother's Day" remake but it is some sort of international sales promo that's found it's way online. Truth be told I've read the synopsis and watched the video and I'm still not 100% sure what the movie is about but it still looks pretty dandy. I assume it takes place on mothers day, right? Someone? I'm so confused and frightened.

"Gut" is a indie movie about two guys who end up watching some sort of awful movie based on one of the guy's suggestions and things get weird. They don't tell you what the movie is but my guess is it's some sort of snuff, autopsy or French film. Feel free to make your own guesses.

James Franco is set to direct and star in a new film about the real life slasher Richard Ramirez, better know as "The Night Stalker". Here's the fun part, Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell is also set to produce the film. Just tossing this out there, but what about getting that guy from Crazytown to compose the score?

If you had to put together the greatest cast of all time who would you pick? Don't bother thinking about it because the makers of "The Bleeding" have already done it. The answer? Vinnie Jones, Michael Matthias, Michael Madsen, DMX, Armand Assante and Kat Von D. Take a few minutes to compose yourself before checking out the clip because you might vomit from excitement.
