Check out the official site for Darren Lynn Bousman's remake of "Mother's Day".

Here's 3 clips from "The Stepfather" remake about to descend on multiplexes across the country. Good lord, this is not going to end well for anyone.

The one-sheet for "Daybreakers", a futuristic vampire film starring Ethan Hawke, landed on MTV today. Very "Matrix"-like... interesting.

New stills from Vincenzo Natali's "Splice"... aka, "running with cats"? I'm just as confused as you are, but I know that this film looks prettye excellent. No word on US distribution yet but we'll let you know as soon as we find out.

What kind of an asshole smoker donates his lungs for an organ transplant?

Move along maam, that's just a naked, pasty white man dancing on your air-conditioning unit. Nothing to see here.

Methinks if you're impersonating Michael Jackson and you have to use blackface, something's not quite right.

A renowned thinker in the world of Physics things that God may be sabotaging the Super Hadron Collider from the future, so as to avoid all those pesky "end of the world" scenarios that the machine makes possible. The crazy part is, most of his colleagues respect him so much that they're not actually ruling it out.

Spike has announced the nominees for the 2009 "Scream" Awards, their yearly genre appreciation show that airs on the cable network. You can cast your votes by visiting the link.

Rebecca De Mornay has signed on to Darren Lynn Bousman's "Mother's Day" remake, as the titular mother. I would make a Seinfeld joke here but every time I do it becomes painfully obvious how old I am.

MTV has optioned the pilot to a "Teen Wolf" television series, and sent out a press release with the most inane executive quotes ever. "It has more of an 'American Werewolf in Paris' feel to it" was my particular favorite. Just start punching yourself in the balls right now.

You know the recent rash of prank calls that's leading to fast food employees doing all sorts of stupid things? Well, if not you can read about it here. My point being, the guy you see in that mughshot is actually smarter than your average fast food employee. Now that's scary.

I would file this under the "oldies but goodies" category... woman uses lighter to check how full her gas can is.

dozens of Swedish cows are committing suicide. Link includes picture evidence. Weird.

On this day in history:

Hitler reluctantly invades Poland, but only after being provoked by warmongering Poles. The previous night, a Polish commando team shot their way into a German radio station in the border town of Gleiwitz, and broadcasted a radical call to arms against the peaceloving people of Germany. Except that it was all an elaborate sham engineered by Nazi general Reinhard Heydrich, dubbed Operation Canned Goods.

Horror Headlines: Thursday July 23rd, 2009

Here are details of Darren Lynn Bousman's next film "Abattoir". His previous film was "Repo: The Genetic Opera".

The first official teaser poster for "A Nightmare on Elm St.". It's still shadowy (as was yesterday's picture that came out), so hopefully we'll get a real nice look at Freddy Krueger sooner rather than later.

Official poster for "Saw VI". All I'm saying is, these people know how to make promotional art.

And speaking of "Saw", the director of the original, James Wan will be directing "Castlevania". He'll be working on his own version of the script with Producer Paul W.S. Anderson, and taking over helming duties from there. So, as of now it sounds like this long dormant project has some new life in it.

In Real People News:

Taste something funny in your Big Mac secret sauce recently? Ya, it was probably people. If Charlton Heston were here, he'd be screaming right now.

Hey dumbass... I'm sure that bison is real pretty, but you probably want to stay more than 10 feet away when taking pictures of it, or else you'll probably get your ass gored.

1982: Vic Morrow is killed filming a stunt sequence for "Twilight Zone: The Movie" near Valencia, California. Morrow and two child actors are chopped into bits by the main rotor when a helicopter positioned dangerously close to the talent suddenly crashes.
