piranha 3d

It's like Piranha 3D, but without the boobs or gore, and the 3D...

Every day I look on the tubes for news that's going to grab you by the lips and yank. Some days that task is pretty hard. Today is not one of those days. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you a very NSFW clip of from "Drive Angry" where Nic Cage is having sex with a women while having a gunfight. I don't want to say you should skip the rest of the news but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't going to go downhill after this.

Because "Piranha 3D" is hitting DVD and Blu-Ray and that gives us a reason to continue being pervs, the makers recently held an online "Hottest Babes in Horror" showdown on their site. The winner? One Miss Eliza Dushku. The losers? A porn stay way past her prime, a girl I think is someone but if I'm wrong I sound really racist and a bunch of other people I don't recognized. So yeah, congrats.

Michael Tully is a director and he's created a movie called "Septien" that has the greatest movie poster I've seen this year. No there isn't anyone nude on it, sometimes I can be classy to you know. The movie focuses on a gambler who returns home after being away for years to reconnect with his insane brothers. Side note, I have no idea how to pronounce the title of this film.

"Dibbuk Box", which sounds like a Japanese prono, has added Kyra Sedgwick to it's ever growing cast list. From Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures, the movie follows the story of a young boy who becomes strangely attracted to a wooden box that contains a soul chomping demon. Sedgwick will play the unlucky tike's mother.

In a shocking twist the much anticipated sequel to "Piranha 3D" will be shot in... you guess it, 3D. I can't say I'm mad about this and the fact that they're calling it "Piranha 3DD", teehee, makes me giddy as all get out. I think that's a saying.

What's got two thumbs and has Nicolas Cage fever? This guy! And you will too after you check out this new poster for "Season of the Witch". Did you look? Are you excited? Did you see Ron Perlman's name awkwardly placed at the bottom? I love it!

Alan Spencer, the guy who created "Alan Spencer" (look it up it's awesome) is working on a new show for IFC that follows a serial killer who's trying to juggle both his after hours activities and his social life. It's going to be called "Dextter". Alright that last part is a lie but it's a good suggestion I think.

A movie about a magic mushroom hunt gone terribly wrong? Sign me up kids, here's some new images from the German slasher flick "One Way Trip 3D". Let me narrate them for you. "Creepy, boring, creepy boring, holy crap why would you do that?!"

"Piranha 3D" set a new precedent, so why not copy it? That's exactly what "Shark Night 3D" plans to do while tempting us with these bikini shots of Sarah Paxton and Katherine McPhee. And James Cameron thought "Piranha" was dumb.

Daniel Stamm saw box office success with "The Last Exorcism" this past weekend and he's already looking ahead to future projects. While not yet certain, the director has said that his next film may be "Twelve Strangers", a supernatural thriller. This film is slated to be the second entry in the M. Night Shyamalan "Night Chronicles" trilogy.

There has been some confusion on the announcement of Dimension revealing their plans for a ninth "Hellraiser" film, planned for direct to video release instead of the rumored remake of the original film. Finally revealing their plan, the studio cited the ticking clock on their option to the franchise forcing them to move ahead on "Hellraiser: Revelations" since concrete plans for the remake were no where near coming to fruition.

Not content to rest on his laurels, Tom Six has already begun filming "Human Centipede: Full Sequence". Per Six, they plan to finish filming by December and have the film in the Sundance Film Festival by January.

Neil Marshall is going to take you out to eat for his next film "Underground" as he explores the world of cannibalism and exclusive supper clubs. With Marshall's track record, I'll just go ahead and assume this flick will be alright.

John Cusack's going to play a troubled writer! Glad to see he's trying something new, right? This time around, it's not just any old troubled writer; Cusack's been cast as Edgar Allen Poe in an upcoming biopic. Don't worry film makers, we can just forget about genre veteran Jefferey Coombs who's been playing Poe on stage for the last two years to critical accolades.

James Cameron thinks that movies like "Piranha 3D" cheapen the 3D medium he worked so hard to breath new life into. I'd like to remind Mr. Cameron that he's the reason every damn movie coming out lately is trying to shoehorn 3D into it's tag lines. That, and I guess he forgot directing the original 3D "Piranha" film?
