Geddy’s Moon is John Mulhall’s debut novel, which he began working on over twenty years ago as a teenager. This tidbit of knowledge is extremely important, as all his efforts and years poured into this project definitely paid off tenfold.

Needless to say, this one divided the crew...

Holy 'effin crap. A thousand times yes to this. The film's currently in post-production, so do your best to contain yourself for a few more months before we can see it. Also, if you're at work, make sure to put headphones on, unless the sound of someone screaming "FUCK POLIO!" is ok at your work. If it is, please let me know where I can direct my resume...

On very rare occasions a film will leave me speechless. Sometimes, it’s because the film was so good. The first time I watched “No Country for Old Men” I sat in the theater for five minutes just soaking everything I just saw in. Sometimes, a movie will be so crazy and off the wall I’ll be stunned at what I just saw. “Eraserhead” comes to mind. But this was a new experience for me. This was the first time I’ve seen a movie so bad on so many levels, that I’ve been stunned that I just watched what I watched. Make no mistakes, “Hyenas” is a complete, abject failure.

A lot of movies get added to Netflix's Instant Stream every week. Luckily for you, I'm here to dig through what's new and highlight new releases that may be of interest to BGH readers. Halloween is right around the corner and Netflix is really ramping up the horror releases. Tons of stuff this week. And without further adieu, joining the ranks of the Instant Stream this week are:

Amityville II: The Possession (1982)
At the risk of losing some nerd-cred, I have to come clean: the only Amityville movie I've ever seen was "Part 3D". Checking this one out.

"Ginger Snaps" is a quirky, fun werewolf movie. It's certainly no "Twilight", but unfortunately, not every movie can be a masterpiece. All sarcasm aside, the 2000 Canadian film directed by John Fawcett, offers a different take on the whole werewolf flick, as the film uses lycanthropy as a metaphor for puberty. Teen sisters Brigitte and Ginger (Emily Perkins and Katharine Isabelle) are awkward high school outcasts who are obsessed with death.

Universal Studios is toying with a new attraction, namely a new 3D King Kong ride named "Kong, the Eighth Wonder of the World". Here's hoping for more 3D Naomi Watts and less 3D Jack Black.

Straight from the 'a sequel to what?' news desk; directory Harry Bromly Davenport let slip that he will be releasing a sequel to 1983's "Xtro". On the bright side, it's an actual sequel and not a remake!

Columbia Pictures is starting up the "Men in Black 3" hype machine as they begin to throw around names for the planned sequel. Thrown around so far are Josh Brolin, Sascha Baron Cohen and Jemaine Clement of "Flight of the Conchords" fame. None of these names are a lock however, just a listing of who the studio hopes to snag.

Nerd goddess Felicia Day has signed on to Syfy's "Red", a modern day retelling of "Little Read Riding Hood". Swap out the innocence of a little girl going to see her granny with Day's family who makes their living hunting werewolves and that's your plot.

Actress Zelda Rubinstein, best known for her role as Tangina in Tobe Hooper's classic "Poltergeist," died of natural causes on Wednesday. She was 76.

Have you longed to feel the rancid breath of a giant ape on your face as he leaps over your head to attack a rampaging Tyrannosaurus Rex? If so, you're in the luck. Filmmaker Peter Jackson has helped Universal Studios relaunch their "King Kong" theme park ride, which will open its doors this summer. Remember to pack your banana hammock.

The first trailer for Capcom's upcoming live-action adaptation of "Dead Rising" has appeared online. It's cheap, it's ugly, and it's extremely violent. In other words, I'm giddy with excitement.

Anchor Bay recently announced they have acquired the rights to Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo's "After Life," a new horror/thriller starring Christina Ricci, Justin Long, and Liam Neeson. When this thing will see the light of day is still anybody's guess.
