Wallace Langham always seems sassy to me so that makes him a perfect fit to play the roll of Saul Bass in the upcoming film "Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of 'Psycho.'" I'm not going to tell you what the movie is about because that title might be the most direct thing I've ever read. I also have no idea with Saul Bass was "sassy" in real life but I like to think he was.

Let me get this on paper right now. If the end of the world comes and it looks like I might make it out alive but I'll have to live with Seth Rogan, I want you to just shoot me right in the face. Don't ask me if I really mean it, don't even think about it. Just pull the trigger. Even if Aziz Ansari is there, who's just been added to the cast of "The Apocalypse", an end of the world comedy which stars Ro-Gan. See how I made that happen? But seriously. Shoot me.

Oren Peli and Jason Blum, the producers behind "Paranormal Activity" are currently working on an untitled "Latino-themed" supernatural thriller. Now before we go any further let me point out that my wife is Puerto Rican so nothing I say can be considered racist. The story will focus on a pack of haunted tacos that terrorize a family of migrant workers. They must use the power of salsa to expel the demons and save their home/hut. I'm kidding of course, no details on the film have been released.

"Ender’s Game", the much anticipated adaptation of Orson Scott Card's beloved science fiction novel has had its release date officially pushed to November 1, 2013. I have no idea what the book is about but it sounds like there's tiny little fighter pilots so that's adorable.

In Real People News:

Here's a story about a California guy who's in a wheelchair but still found a way to sexually assault a chihuahua. Handy-capable indeed.

When a shoplifting attempt goes wrong you have to make some quick decisions. Like this woman in Louisiana who had to choose between the items she was stealing or her baby. She chose the items she was lifting for the record. And for the record the items she was stealing were from a baby store. Which seems really stupid now.

Trailers: Oren Peli's "The River", coming up quick

Oren Peli, the man who masterminded the "Paranormal Activity" series, debuts an ambitious new TV show this coming Tuesday night on ABC. Looks intriguing, the big question being how long can they keep the show on the rails given the gimmicky nature of the story. Thankfully I still have a few days left to find ABC on my TV. Can't remember the last show of theirs I actually watched.

Paranormal Activity 3 (REVIEW)

"Paranormal Activity 3" takes viewers back to see where the activity began.

After a legitimate breakout and a strong follow-up, it was safe to say that we're now stuck with "Paranormal Activity," for better or for worse. And while that type of success is usually a recipe for Hollywood studio scrimping and laziness, this series may mark one of the first instances where producers have managed to grow a series both in ambition and quality as it progresses.

Horror Headlines: Monday November 8th, 2010

Hayden Panettiere, Nikki Reed and Rebecca De Mornay are confirmed for the upcoming High School thriller "Downers Grove". I was going to make a joke about how it's ridiculous that Panettiere is playing a High School student but apparently she is only 21 so that's actually pretty young in movie school years.

What's up next for Oren "Mr. Paranormal Activity" Peli? Why a film called "Eliza Graves" that is loosely based on an Edgar Allan Poe short story. Hell yeah this is going to be awesome. The entire thing is going to be shot on helmet cams. Next level!

Speaking of! Apparently "Paranormal Activity 2" has up to 20 alternative endings to the film that will most likely make their way to the DVD and Blu-Ray releases. A couple of my favorites include the entire family hopping on the pool cleaner and riding off to safety and one where the female cast members all go out for a 3 hour pole dancing class and never bother returning to the house.

Well hello dreamy pants! Ryan Gosling is rumored to be taking the lead in the upcoming big screen adaptation of "All You Need Is Kill". I have no desire to see this but there's a 99% chance I will because my wife has made it no secret that she'd leave me in a heartbeat for this guy. To be honest I don't blame her, his eyes are like two pools you want to swim in for days.

In Real People News:

Remember when you were a kid and there was that weird lady who would give out perfume samples and pencils on Halloween? Well here's a couple in Oregon that was giving out condoms to kids. Upsetting to parents, yes, but if I was 3 I probably would have just thought it was a water balloon that was ribbed for her pleasure.

And this is why I don't have any pets, well at least not ones that I would care about if they dropped dead. A man in Tampa Florida apparently gave his dog mouth to mouth after it was attacked by an alligator. Imagine if the dog was faking it, like in "The Sandlot"? Oh man egg on that guy's face!

On this day in history:

1987 - A bomb planted by the Irish Republican Army exploded as crowds gathered in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, for a ceremony honoring Britain's war dead, killing 11 people.

Horror Headlines: Friday September 3rd, 2010

The guys behind both "Paranormal Activity" films have plans to create a show for the small screen in the near future. The show will be called "Paranormal Activities" and will feature real ghosts doing everyday fun tasks just like us livin' folk. Alright that's a lie, but they are working on a show.

Much to my surprise "Let Me In" has received a big old R rating from the MPAA. Apparently the movie's going to feature "strong bloody horror violence, language and a brief sexual situation". Brief sexual situation? So much for being toned down.

Are Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson attached to the big screen adaptation of "Breathers: A Zombie's Lament"? Sounds iffy but I've actually read the book and I feel it's important for my self esteem to report on movies that have to do with the dozen or so books I've read over the years. Me read pretty one day!

Liam Neeson is all fired up and ready to star in "The Grey". The film focuses is on a a group of pipeline workers who come in contact with a pack of wild wolves after their plane crashes in Alaska. Liam Neeson, he's what's for dinner.

In Real People News:

Over 300 goats have been killed in the state of Puebla down in Mexico and shepherds are pissed! The prime suspect in the crime? Chupacabra! Holy crap I love Chupacabra and everything it does. I want one as a pet.

On this day in history:

1939 - Britain and France declared war on Germany, two days after the Nazi invasion of Poland.

Horror Headlines: Wednesday November 11th, 2009

LatinoReview.com has uncovered the script for Oren Peli's follow up to "Paranormal Activity", titled "Area 51". Still basking in the glow of his recent success, the studio has been trying to keep close tabs on the details for this one. So, if you don't mind spoilers... be sure to read on.

It was rumored some months past that J J Abrams would be taking on the adaptation of Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series. As of today, Abrams has officially announced that he is dropping the project.

If James Gunn was the only reason you were holding out for "Scream Queens Season 2", I have bad news for you. Gunn has had to bow out of Season 2 due to scheduling conflicts. On the bright side, that means he's making another movie!

ABC has announced that it will not be renewing "Eastwick", the small screen adaptation of "Witches of Eastwick" after its 13 episode run. Don't worry, I'm sure we'll see Rebecca Romijin-Stamos-O'Connel again soon!

In Real People News:

The recent discovery of hundreds of human bones, bronze shields, and bracelets in the wilds of the Sahara Desert are believed to be the remains of the Lost Persian Army of Cambyses II. The army of 50,000 men was believed to have been buried by a sandstorm in the year 525 B.C. Not so much weird news, but 'awesome' news for history nerds!

Two teachers have been suspended after letting their students watch a Live Sex show during a cultural exchange trip to Thailand. My only question is, do they even have any other kind of shows in Thailand?

Psychics lead officials to a human skeleton hidden in the walls of a West Virginia mansion. The remains were chopped into bits with saw marks upon the bones. Who the bones belonged to has yet to be discovered.

On this day in history:

1988 - Seven bodies are discovered under the ground of a Sacramento California boardinghouse owned by Dorothea Puente. The batty landlord had killed nine elderlies and was receiving their social security money.

Paranormal Activity (REVIEW)

Fear is an incredibly subjective emotion. What scares one person may make another laugh, or barely raise the pulse of still another person. Since horror films deal in fear, it's only natural that eventually the artform would become proactive in directly manipulating the way in which people experience a film. The first-person, or "found footage" horror narrative, is designed to do exactly that.
