jennifer's body

Much buzz and speculation has been floating around the Megan Fox starring horror thriller "Jennifer's Body". Written by hipster allstar and "Juno" scribe Diablo Cody, no one has been sure what to make of her penning an original horror flick.

Today, the official red band trailer has hit the internet and here it is for you're enjoyment!

Until Rob Zombie changes his mind, this is the official one-sheet for "Halloween 2". I actually like it, although they clearly haven't fired the lettering guy from the last poster that ended up being a disaster. Could that text at the top possibly be real?

Tons of pictures from a recent "Night of the Creeps" reunion, being filmed for the upcoming DVD. Check the Flickr set at the link.

Wes Craven says he's not quite finished shooting "25/8" yet, as they may go back for some reshoots in July. Then he's hoping to have everything finished for a possible late '09/early 2010 release.

Megan Fox talks about "Jennifer's Body", including the fact that she was not able to deviate from Diablo Cody's script one single word, because Diablo Cody fancies herself the greatest screenwriter in the world.

Paul Schrader pens remake to "Tomie", the Japanese horror series with 7 sequels. I've heard of these films but have never seen any, can one of our readers fill us in in the comments?

Sam Raimi's latest horror film "Drag Me To Hell" opens everywhere today.

A look at H.G. Lewis' "Grim Fairy Tale", with interview and the first set of stills from the film. Looks like some splattery fun to me.

Now if you'll excuse me, I think I might require some "alone time" with the "Jennifer's Body" comic. That is all.

Rumor has it that FOX Atomic, Fox's genre wing responsible for pictures such as "The Hills Have Eyes 2", "28 Weeks Later" and "Turistas", will be shut down next week. No word on how this may affect "Jennifer's Body", Diablo Cody's new film which was produced under the banner.

"True Blood" Season 2 teaser poster. And here I am continuing to report on it despite our readers telling me they're not interested. Yes, I am dense. It's also a slow news day, so bear with me.

Eli Roth's out talking more about "Thanksgiving" after the announcement last week that he would like to piggyback it onto a bigger budget film of his. This time he says he's writing it with his longtime friend Jeff Rendell, who will also play "The Pilgrim".

According to Patrick Lussier, there will be no "My Bloody Valentine 3D" sequel. That comes from Lions Gate, who were surprised at the film's BO success but not too jazzed about greenlighting a second go-round. The film is plenty open-ended for them to have done one, but apparently they're calling it a day with this potential franchise. "MBV3D" hits DVD and Blu-ray May 19th.

It's not every Monday that we kick off the week with a round of "awesome indie movie title", but I'm feeling frisky so here it goes. Check out "Bong of the Dead". Aaah, an oldie but a goodie. Enjoy.

The Brian Keene novel "Dark Hollow" has been picked up for adaptation. The Story follows a half-man, half-goat "Satyr" who begins luring all the women of a small town into the woods with his spell. The men, pissed off about losing their women, go out into the woods to confront the evil. Another cool aspect of this is that he dropped the story of the acquisition on his Twitter feed, which seems to be happening more and more lately.

Here's an interesting little Japanese slasher called "Invitation Only". While digging through details I also discovered that it stars Japanese "actress" Maria Ozawa. Who is that you might ask? Let's just say if you're going to Google her, you may want to wait until you're in the privacy of your own home... with the lights off... and the door locked.

I was staying away from the rumor but today we have confirmation, Elizabeth Shue is confirmed for the remake of "Piranha 3D". The film, being shot in the newest 3D technology, is being written/directed by Alexandre Aja, of "Hills Have Eyes" and "Mirrors" fame. Shue will play the role of Sherriff Julie Forester, a "take-charge authority figure in the community of Lake Victoria". Sounds sassy!

And finally, a little treat for you on this Monday, a much better look at Megan Fox in Diablo Cody's "Jennifer's Body". Don't ever say I'm not looking out for you guys.
