wolf creek 2

Who gives a crap that there's already a movie called "Dark Skies", lets make a different one and let's make it about sharks. F the system! Let's also get Tara Reid, because she is surprisingly available, and let's toss in Cassie Scerbo and Ian Ziering, two people I don't know but look like they're pretty close to doing soft core porn. Let's make it about LA being flooded and people fighting sharks. Let's just say F you logic and reasoning.

I have always been baffled by the music in the original "The Last House on the Left" but I'm guessing some people love it so the folks at One Way Static Records are releasing the soundtrack on vinyl for the very first time. For those of you not in the know, the soundtrack was composed by David Hess, who played "Krug" in the film. He's also the same guy who had an hour long conversation with Jon from the podcast about baseball at Horror Hound Weekend a few years back and then shot him down for a photo. He's also dead.

Sony has bumped up the release of the upcoming "Evil Dead" remake to April 5th. The move is mostly due to some other film's release date shifting but still, let's call this a good thing. Let's also agree to ever talk about the one night we both went to Hooters and ended up going to the bathroom at the same time and may or may not have compared sizes. No one should ever know about that.

So "Wolf Creek 2" is happening and it looks like John Jarratt, who played the creepy killer in the first flick, will be returning. Some other Australian folks who no one knows (sorry Australian readers) will also be in the flick which will follow a group of backpackers who encounter a strange local, so pretty much the same plot as the first film.

Have I made any INXS jokes yet for the movie "The Devil Inside"? Let's pretend I haven't for a moment. Because I got some really hilarious quips about the twist at the end being that the demon that's possessed the girl in the film is actually Michael Hutchence. I just can't remember any of them right now. But here's a new red band trailer for the film, which honestly is going to give me nightmares. And not the normal ones I always have about INXS either.

Do yourself a favor, leave your leftover cranberry sauce on the counter for the next three days. Then eat the entire thing and watch the trailer for "Door Number 8", a new film from Telugu film, which is apparently a language. I'm not going to bother trying to explain what the movie is about. I think it's got something to do with a haunted house. Maybe not though. All I know is the trailer is insane and made me feel like I was back at Woodstock. Not the hippy one, the one where Limp Bizkit made people burn other people.

This can't be good news for "Wolf Creek 2". According to a recent report the film's major investor, Geoffrey Edelsten, is filing a suit against the films makers. He claims he never would have put up his cash if he had known he was going to be the biggest and single private investor on the project. I guess he's quickly realizing he's not going to see "Avatar" money any time soon. Silly man.

And finally here's the news you've all been waiting for. The first single from "The Hunger Games" by the one and only Taylor Swift is online and ready for you to enjoy. You're welcome, world!

Throw another shrimp on the barbie my friends because it looks like the long awaited sequel to Greg McLean's 2005 Australian camper chop fest "Wolf Creek" is finally getting some funding. I haven't seen the original yet but it's currently sitting at 31 in my Netflix queue so that could change any month now. Check back for updates.

Get out your checkbook you shopaholic skanks because another "Friday the 13th" box set is on its way on October 8th. Much like every other set you've paid for this one will only include the films up to 8 but unlike the others it'll feature hockey mask packaging, collectible booklet and be limited to only 50,000 copies. Sorry about the skank comment.

The feel good hit of 2009 "Dead Hooker in a Trunk" is finally finding its way to VOD on August 3rd thanks for the fine people at IFC Midnight. For those of you not familiar with the family friendly hit it tells the tale of four friends whose plans for a fun night out get ruined when they discover a... wait for it... dead hooker in a trunk. Are you as turned on as I am right now? I'm sorry again about the skank thing.

If there is one movie that people have been demanding and begging for it's "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance", the sequel to the 2007 Oscar snubbed comic book adaptation staring Nic Cage. Well now the movie is in the works and today we've got our grubby little paws on a gaggle of new images from the soon to be classic. Man it's been the hottest news day ever today, hasn't it?
