Blair Witch 2016 Trailer

"The Woods" was Actually "Blair Witch," Because of Course it Was (Trailer)

The makers of Blair Witch (2016) pulled the old switcheroo on us. A trailer for a found footage, kids lost in the forest movie called The Woods hit a couple of months ago. There have been a million movies like this since The Blair Witch Project took the world by storm in 1999, but this trailer looked suspiciously Blair Witch-like. It was then revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that The Woods is, in fact, Blair Witch, a sequel about the brother of Heather believing that she is still alive somewhere in the woods outside Burkittsville, MD. Lionsgate took a page out of Bad Robot's 10 Cloverfield Lane playbook, and showed that it's still possible to surprise people in the Internet era, when we know the release dates for every DC or Marvel flick for the next twenty-five years.

Directed by horror fan favorite Adam Wingard (You're Next, V/H/S, The Guest), Blair Witch is certain to have a huge opening and to be one of the most anticipated films of the year. And with an up-and-coming talent revisiting one of the scariest universes in horror history, it might even be good. Release Date is September 16th, 2016.
