Horror Headlines: Thursday September 3rd, 2009

Ti West says "Cabin Fever 2" isn't really worth seeing. And he's the director, so that's probably not a good thing.

"Paranormal Activity", a film shot entirely from the POV of security cameras in a couple's haunted home, has been given an R rating by the MPAA. No word on release date yet, but this one has been gaining buzz on the festival circuit for a while now, so hopefully we'll hear more soon.

Check out the creature from "Pandorum" in this clip from the film, which gets released September 25th. I haven't heard a lot on this in terms of quality, but it looks highly solid to me.

In Real People News:

This story is kind of like how Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci call themselves "The Wet Bandits" in "Home Alone". Only I guess this guy would call himself "The Poop Bandit". Doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

Of all the things that would leave a scar on a 9 year old mind, I'm thinking seeing a man climb out of the hole beneath a toilet is probably pretty high up there.

On this day in history:

1941: At Auschwitz, the Germans conduct a live trial on 600 Russian POWs and 298 sick prisoners to test the lethality of an insecticide known as Zyklon-B. It turns out to be extremely effective at killing people.
