The first image of Alice in Tim Burton's "Alice" [in Wonderland]. You have to scroll down the forums there to see it, as well as the rest of the article it came from which contains some concept art from the "dinner scene".

"Last House on the Left" director Dennis Iliadis has his next film lined up, called "Cure". It's written by the guy who wrote "Max Payne" (yikes), and is about "a young man who sends his wife for an experimental treatment to save her from a terminal illness. Although she returns completely cured, she is suddenly infected with something more terrifying." After "Last House", I'm very excited to see what Iliadis can do with some original material, so count me in.

French director Laurent Briet is close to landing the gig directing "The Strangers 2", which will take place in a trailer park. The sequel is to be based on a script by Brian Bertino, writer/director of the original.

Margot Kidder has joined the cast of "H2" or "Halloween 2"... or, what was for a few minutes last night on Zombie's blog called "Halloween: The Devil Walks Among Us". That info was taken down pretty quickly, but it should mean we'll be getting an official title pretty soon. As for Kidder? Ah whatever. It just puts him one step closer to fitting every out of work actor from the 70's and 80's into this film. Shouldn't be distracting AT ALL.

In Real People News:

Couple tries to make a sex machine by slipping a rubber dildo over a saber saw blade, which of course makes a "thrusting motion" when engaged. Hmmm... I wonder how this turned out.

A riot broke out at a recent audition for "America's Next Top Model". For those hoping for some kind of "Darwin" effect, it looks like everyone survived. Don't worry, there's always next season.

On this day in history:

1968: Soldiers of Charlie Company, 11th Brigade Americal Division massacre over 300 civilian men, women, and children in the village of My Lai in South Vietnam.

Sounds very similar to an early Cronenberg film called "Rabid," though Cronenberg's original starred then porn star Marilyn Chambers. How does Iliadis plan on topping that?

Your tag 'Don't stick that in your vagina' is the best! That has to show up in the google report in the near future. It actually sounds like it would be a segment on the show 'Wonder Showzen'. I can just see those kids yelling out "DON'T STICK THAT IN YOUR VAGINAAAAAAA!!!!" LOL!!! ^_^

Also, H2/Halloween: The devil walks among us/electric boogaloo is just sounding sillier and sillier every day Rob posts something about it. You know I think (despite not liking his movies) that he has a really great eye for directing but I feel like he needs to stay out of the writing process. And I think he should have kept his word and not done this sequel. It would have been nice to see him move on to something else.

Jason is a Zombie ^_^

By casting Jenna Jameson?

Wait, wasn't Rabid the on in the apartment complex where everyone starts going nuts and killing each other because of a parasite?

The one you're thinking of is "Shivers" aka "They Came From Within." That was actually Cronenberg's first feature, if I'm not mistaken. It's also one of his few films that I've not seen. It's tough to find an actual copy, though there are decent torrents of it available if you're so inclined. I may have partaken in that action, but haven't actually watched it yet.

The plot on that one is pretty insane too though: basically the parasite you're referring to is transmitted through sex, and it makes people crazy horn-balls on top of their actual blood lust.

I actually rented and watched Shivers on DVD when I was living in Philly. It's a little rough around the edges but definitely shows off Cronenberg's potential. It pretty much dives right into the horror from almost the second the movie starts.

If you don't have a torrent of it and are back visiting family check out the Video Library at 404 Locust street, philly. The DVD was pretty barebones but had a couple interesting features as I remember it.

my girlfriend was actually forced to audition for americas next top model and she called me up laughing about the stupid bitches getting themselves all out of sorts about a few people of whom were apparently yelling about a fire...
some people got all caught up in a revolving door, of which some dumb bitch got her leg caught in, there were people hyperventilating, I'm thinking about making a short documentary on the event if it is to happen next year...(I'm buying my plane ticket months in advance to say the least)..
