Posters: "Best Worst Movie" mastermind debuts "The American Scream"

You may remember Michael Paul Stephenson as the guy who directed "Best Worst Movie", the breakout hit documentary from a few years back about "Troll 2". Stephenson was also the child star of that film, and "Best Worst Movie" was in part a response to his discovery that the infamously bad "Troll 2" had become something of a cult classic with kids who grew up watching it on HBO in the 90's.

It's a fantastic doc (review below), but it looks like Stephenson is back, this time debuting a new film tonight at Fantastic Fest in Austin titled "The American Scream". It's another horror themed doc, this time about a small Massachusetts town that takes its love of Halloween to the next level...

Every Halloween, sleepy Fairhaven, Massachusetts erupts with the most ambitiously creative spookery in the world. Endless styrofoam tombstones and backyard beasts come courtesy of a few supremely dedicated local "home haunters" who've devoted their lives to the art of handmade monster-making. THE AMERICAN SCREAM follows three of these horrific households to uncover the triumphs and tragedies that come with carrying the blackened banner of true Halloween spirit.
