Gameplay Footage of Dead Rising 2: Off The Record

Yes, your Ghoul of Gaming has another tidbit for you! If you played Dead Rising 2, you'll know it's a nifty zombie survival game; a completely open world full of different choices and endings. While I didn't think it was as good as the first one, I did enjoy it. Hell, how can you NOT enjoy making custom weapons like the Broom Katana, Bucket 'O Drills, Beer Hat, & the Super BFG, to name a few. The mass slaughtering of literally THOUSANDS of zombies is so satisfying, and never gets old. Hell, that could be the entire game, and I would be perfectly content with it.

Australia Grants MA15+ Rating to "Aliens vs Predator" Game

It was recently announced that the "Aliens vs Predator" reboot for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3, will in fact no longer be banned in Australia, and will appear on shelves uncut, contrary to previous speculation. It was also announced that it will carry an MA15+ rating, prohibiting anyone under the age of 15 from purchasing the game. Although this is seen as a victory for the gaming community, it has left some people wondering whether there should be a steeper rating category than MA15+, which is currently the country's highest rating before refusing to sell a game altogether.

"Left 4 Dead 2" DLC Will Bring Back Old Friends

One of the major laments of "Left 4 Dead 2" (mostly before its release) that was that besides a very far-away cameo, the survivors from the original game were absent from the sequel. Come the spring, that problem will be taken care of as Valve has announced that the first DLC for the critically acclaimed sequel to the critically acclaimed first person Zombie shootout will include the original iconic survivors and some other goodies as well:

"Left 4 Dead 2" Trailer

Oh it's on people! The trailer for "Left 4 Dead 2" has hit the intertubes and it's 100% bonerz, whatever that means. This video, which is just shy of 3 minutes, doesn't appear to show any actual gameplay but it does lead me to believe that there will be a much richer story mode in the second outing. Although the primary strength of the series is multiplayer, you can only get your ass kicked by 15 year olds online for so long before you start to feel like less of a man.

'Crash Course' DLC for L4D is Only Free for Some

Presumably to muffle the cries of their colicky fanbase over the abrupt announcement and impending release of "Left 4 Dead 2", Valve will be releasing a new campaign for the original game in September. However, unlike the last pack of DLC that included new multiplayer maps and an entirely new online mode, XBOX360 users are going to have to pony up the dough for the new "Crash Course" campaign.

Behind The Scenes Clip From “Wolfenstein”

It’s been months since I’ve turned on my Xbox 360 but from the looks of the newly released behind the scenes clip from “Wolfenstein” I think I might be picking up the controller again. Activision gives a pretty good overview of the game and how it’s evolved, and most importantly explains to fans how they’ve tried to stay true to the original games. “Wolfenstein” comes out for the Xbox 360, PC, and Playstation 3 on August 4th.

Spray Some Blood with L4D2's Melee Weapons

One of the things that was missing from the original "Left 4 Dead" was melee weapons. Sure, guns, Molotov cocktails, and pipe bombs are cool, but do you really think that those things would be as easily at your disposal when the zombie apocalypse comes? Thankfully, the omission is being rectified in "Left 4 Dead 2," and this off-screen video from the floor of this week's San Diego Comicon shows just how fun (and bloody!) these new additions can be:

"Left 4 Winchester" Brings Shaun to L4D

Ever since Valve opened up "Left 4 Dead" to mod development, both game and zombie enthusiasts have scrambled to recreate their favorite scenes from famous zombie films in the game. Movies like "Night of the Living Dead" and "Dawn of the Dead" are easy targets, but a crew of modders has assembled to work on 'Left 4 Winchester,' a custom campaign based on "Shaun of the Dead." The campaign is broken up in sequence to fit the movie, starting at Shaun's living room (above) and ending in the back room of the iconic Winchester Tavern.

"Fallen Earth" Wants to be your Anti-WoW

I've avoided the world of MMORPGS's (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games, but you know that you nerd) for quite some time, mostly because I barely have time to play games that don't require me to meet real-time goals. With World of Warcraft blowing up to the point of inviting a parody on South Park, it's safe to say that MMO's have reached far beyond their previous demographic, which included for lack of a better term, basement dwellers.

Banned "Left 4 Dead 2" Cover Isn't Very Exciting

If "Left 4 Dead 2" is anything, it will be bloody, violent, and a hell of a lot of fun. With all of the hooplah about its "rushed" release, I would have thought that the cover of the game would be the least of everyone's concern. Apparently, I was wrong.

At Valve's booth you saw one or two instances of the hand image shown in this picture of Chet Faliszeck, and the ring and pinky fingers have been completely bitten off. That's an image Valve claims the ESRB wouldn't allow for future marketing materials.
