Wherein no one talks about people they banged in high school...

Katee Sackhoff, of a bunch of stuff I've never seen fame, has landed a role in a new haunted mirror flick titled "Oculus". Wow, that sentence just happened. She'll play the mother of a girl, played by Karen Gillan, who is dead-set on proving that a haunted mirror is responsible for the murders that left two children without parents. The mirror did it... I don't know what else to say.

Little known fact, I am literate. I know I was just as shocked to find this out as you are. And I may in fact read Stephen King's new book "Joyland" which was just given a June 4, 2013 release date and some snappy cover art. The book will focus on a young lad who goes to work at a carnival over the summer and finds himself wrapped up in the legacy of a murder that happened there. I'm just kidding I have no idea what I'm even typing.

Remember a while back when I said I could read? But it turns out I wasn't kidding. Seriously, I've read all three books in Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan's "Strain" trilogy which focuses on a group of survivors trying to end a vampire outbreak that has taken over the world. So just think of how excited I am now that FX is looking to make a small screen adaptation of the books? I can say crap like, "oh well in the book that was different". People love hearing that kind of stuff, right?

Open Road Films has picked up a new found footage spoof film titled "A Haunted House" from mastermind Marlon Wayans. I know what you're thinking and don't worry, he will also be starring in the film...

Oh boy oh boy! "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D" is just 9 years away from hitting theaters, give or take 8 years, and today we've got our first look at pictures from the set. At least I think they're from the set. It's either the set or Germany, I still can't tell. Wait it's being filmed in Germany? This worked out perfectly!

Christopher Nolan has confirmed that next installment in the Batman franchise, titled "The Dark Knight Rises" will be filmed in the fine city of Pittsburgh, PA. I'm pretty sure the move from Chicago is happening solely because Nolan saw that same Food Network show I did about that place in Pittsburgh that makes giant sandwiches with fries on them. If I made movies I would base my locations on places I want to eat too.

I haven't seen "Wolf Creek" but Greg McLean who directed it has dreamy eyes so I feel compelled to tell you about "Crawlspace", a new underground "hey what the hell is going on here" flick. Excited? No? What if I told you the movie stars a bunch of people you've never heard of? Still no huh... How about that weather?

"It's like 'An American Werewolf In Paris' meets 'Fight Club.'" Tell me more Katee Sackhoff! I like both of those movies so I'm going to love your movie "Growl" aren't I?! Wolves fighting each other in underground tournaments while Brad Pitt commands them all to do his bidding! I assume Brad Pitt will be in this movie Katee. You can't have Werewolf Fight Club without him!

If you've ever found yourself wondering how best to survive such things as unstoppable serial killers, zombies or any other supernatural force, be sure to check out How To Survive the Strange. The first episode told us the handy uses of your standard claw hammer, the second episode tells you how you can use ESP to fix household appliances!

Summit Entertainment is branching off a bit from its money printing "Twilight" franchise as it signs on for "Golden Gate". Said to be in the vein of such films as "Single White Female", we see a track star who has found herself a new girlfriend, only to find out that she's just a wee bit insane.

Katee Sackhoff is preparing for a post "Battlestar" appearance as pictures from her upcoming werewolf vs. Fight Club feature "Growl" appear online. Though the idea of Chuck Liddell Vs. The Wolfman is indeed entertaining, the director's name Sxv'Leithan Essex sounds by far more intriguing.

Mellissa George is preparing to thrill us once again as the official Facebook page and first shots from her new feature "A Lonely Place to Die" appears on line. Ms. George and a few of her friends head to the Scottish Highlands for some hiking fun only to find themselves wrapped up in a kidnapping plot? Sounds like fun to me.
