"The Final" Tackles A Touchy Subject

Although the trailer for Joey Stewart's upcoming revenge flick "The Final" looks somewhat interesting, you can't help but feel that the controversial subject matter is, perhaps, in poor taste. With school-related violence occurring at a brutally alarming rate, basing an entire motion picture around a dejected group of outcasts who torture and torment their teenage enemies might be a hard sell to the general public. Then again, maybe that's precisely what Stewart had in mind. Regardless, his film certainly has potential, but it really all depends on how he and writer Jason Kabolati approach the material.

"The Final" should find its way onto DVD sometime next year. In the meantime, take a peak at the trailer below.

Todd has been a slave to the horror genre for as long as he can remember. After cutting his teeth on late-night Cinemax schlock and the low-budget offerings found on the classic USA program "Up All Night," our hero moved valiantly into the world of sleazy obscura, consuming the oddest films from around the world with the reckless abandon of a man without fear or reason. When he isn't sitting mindlessly in front of a television set, he can be found stuffing music, video games, and various literary scribblings into his already cluttered mindscape.
