Clive Barker's "Book of Blood" trailer

First published in the US in 1984, the frame story for Clive Barker's Books of Blood has finally been filmed as, simply, "Book of Blood", with Barker producing and John Harrison adapting and directing. The North American premiere is at the Montreal Fantasia film festival on July 13th, 2009, with a DVD and Blu-Ray street date of September 29th.

The story revolves around a paranormal researcher hiring a supposed psychic to investigate a haunted house. The dead actually do begin to communicate with the psychic... but they do more than just talk.

Let's hope it's as good as "Midnight Meat Train"!

Book of Blood trailer:

"Dread", adapted and directed by Anthony Diblasi, also from a short story in Books of Blood, premieres at the Montreal festival as well. According to
Barker's website,
he has backers to film many of the stories from the collection, and hopes to do two a year in what he calls the "Films of Blood".
