Rec 2

Horror Headlines: Wednesday March 10th, 2010

Liev Shrieber confirms in an interview that he will not be returning for "Scream IV" since his character was killed off. And here I was thinking some convoluted 'oh he survived!' plot would be a good fit for the "Scream" franchise.

Chloe Moretz, star of the upcoming remake "Let Me In", gives us the scoop on the art direction for the film. Thankfully, Chloe assures us that their vampires "aren't cool".

Screen Gems have begun to leak their info on the upcoming "Quarantine 2" with the announcement that they've hired John Pogue to write and direct as well as their plans to take the sequel in a different direction than its Spanish original.

Actor Corey Haim has been found dead. A drug overdose is currently the leading suspicion behind his death. Condolences to the Haim family on their loss.

In Real People News:

A humble window cleaner decided he'd had enough with dirt and grime, so he attempted to kill himself by jabbing an oversized novelty pencil into his groin. Finally, the years of being called 'pencil dick' took its toll.

At least six Jersey women have found themselves hospitalized with infection after trying to get a bit more donk in their badonka-donk. Something tells me that getting the procedures done in an alley with common window caulk wasn't the brightest move they've ever made.

Subtitled Trailer For "[Rec] 2"

Out of principal I generally will say the American version of any film is better no matter who made it first. Anyone who doesn’t hate freedom and bald eagles would have to agree. It’s a fact. But after watching “Quarantine”, the American version of the Spanish film “[Rec]”, I had to say I was impressed. Namely it didn’t have Jennifer Carpenter sniffling in a camera for 90 minutes. Queue the fat guy screaming GOAL!

Horror Headlines: Thursday June 4th, 2009

While Eric's away, Casey will play! So here I am with today's Horror Headlines!

The first teaser trailer for [REC]2 has arrived and it's a doozy! It looks like more of the same, but there is definitely some good action going here. Later in the day three clips were posted from the new film that are notable for a complete lack of excitement.

Tobin Bell confirms there is an eighth "Saw" movie planned and doesn't deny a ninth. He also failed to acknowledge the dead horse in the room that he was continually beating during the interview. Bell next's reprisal of his Jigsaw role is in the upcoming "Saw" video game, now being shown at E3.

Marking yet another promising creative team to leave the franchise, "Martyrs" director Pascal Laugier is no longer helming the "Hellraiser" remake. There was no reason given but it seems that this remake is quickly becoming a comedy of errors.

In bizarro reboot news, Courtney Cox-Arquette and David Arquette have signed on to the "Scream" reboot. Earlier rumors also pointed to Jamie Kennedy reprising his role. Could this be a first: a remake with the same cast? Do-over!

The first shots of Josh Brolin as Jonah Hex arrive online. They seem rather subdued when compared to the Thomas Jane pics that surfaced last year before Brolin was cast.

In Real People News:

A Washington furry is sentenced to 30 days in jail for having sex with his two dogs. As Austin Powers would say, "Grrr baby, grrr..."

Tired of worrying about the police and DUI's after his nights at the pub, an Australian man has broken a Zebra to ride back and forth to the bar. Functional and stylish!

Canadian thieves steal 144 kegs of beer. In related news, the whereabouts of our resident beer aficionado and staff writer Joe are currently unknown.

On this day in history:

1942 – The Battle of Midway begins when Japanese Admiral Chuichi Nagumo orders a strike on Midway Island.
