imago mortis

Horror Headlines: Wednesday September 9th, 2009

The official website for "The Stepfather" remake has gone live. This film gets my nomination for the "Prom Night" of 2009, but we'll see when it gets released October 14th.

Here's a teaser trailer for the "Plan 9 From Outerspace" remake. And they released it on 9-9-09. Oh, I see what they did there.

Just to balance out all of the remake news, here's new stills from the indie film "Imago Mortis", which stars "Nightmare on Elm St." parts 4 and 5 star Lisa Wilcox, and follows a young woman who is investigating the disappearance of her brother.

Here's another teaser for you today, for Jon Knautz's "Shrine". You may know Knautz from last year's Indie hit "Jack Brooks Monster Slayer".

In Real People News:

Nowhere in the "Good Neighbors Guide" is there any mention of blowing a hole in the side of their house with your replica 19th century cannon. Not that you would need to be told that, but you never know.

I can't decide if the Big Mac Burrito is disgusting or delicious looking, and if it would even matter. I'm sure I'll try one when/if they roll it out in my neck of the woods.

Man steals $8 flea and tick drops from Walmart because he needed drug money. I've read this story three times now and I still can't figure out what his master plan was.

On this day in history:

1971: 1,300 inmates riot inside the Attica Correctional Facility in western New York state, commandeering the prison and taking 40 guards hostage. The national guard stages an assault five days later, killing 42 people in the process (10 of them being captives).

"Imago Mortis" Trailer

Produced by the snappy individuals responsible for both "The Orphange" and "Pan's Labyrinth," Stefano Bessoni's upcoming horror/thriller "Imago Mortis" is shaping up to be the sort of picture I'd like to see. What's more, it's scripted by one of the fine fellows behind Jaume Balaguero's outstanding "[Rec]," which is, of course, grossly superior to its US counterpart. Unfortunately, the trailer currently making the rounds for "Imago Mortis" isn't in English, but the imagery alone is enough to get the blood pumping.

Here's the synopsis from IMDb:
