helter skelter

Horror Headlines: Wednesday May 20th, 2009

Hi folks, Casey here. Eric had to take the day off, but thankfully he forgot to lock the door to the review dungeon before he left the office. So here I am with today's news for ya!

In a recent interview, Dan Akroyd reveals a few details on the upcoming "Ghostbusters 3." Confirmed is the return of Sigourney Weaver, and shooting is tentatively scheduled for this Winter.

Myriad Pictures and the Roseblood Movie Company announce a new flick based on an original Brett Easton Ellis screenplay. Ellis, known for penning some pretty edgy fare such as "American Psycho," lends his expertise this time around to the original story of a social outcast ridiculed by his peers who in turn takes them hostage, with disastrous results.

It's rumored that Oliver Stone is in talks to direct "Helter Skelter", based on the book of the same name written by Vincent Bugliosi.

Bruce Willis returns to the genre with a supernatural flick centered around small town horror as a young girl turns up missing under weird circumstances in "Grimm." The movie is currently in pre-production with Russell Mulcahy directing.

In Real People News:

A Queens retiree makes extra money by selling flowers at the local cemetery. As it turns out, he gets his stock by stealing flowers from the same cemetery. Now that's a man that understands supply and demand.

On this day in history:

May 20th 1999 - The dissolving body parts of eight people are discovered inside six plastic barrels sitting in an abandoned bank vault in Snowtown, Australia. I bet it still smelled better than my own rotting savings account!
