Horror Headlines: New Year's Even, 2009

Underground gore fanatic and influential genre film critic Chas. Balun has passed away at the age of 61. He will be missed. And if you haven't read "Horror Holocaust," do so immediately.

Good news for those who still read books: W.W. Norton & Co will release an english language adapation of Ryu Murakami's "Audition" in June of 2010. The book, of course, was the foundation for the Takashi Miike movie of the same name.

Inexplicably excited about the upcoming remake of "The Wolfman?" To help fuel your wavering interest, Universal has launched the official website, which comes complete with a trailer and an assortment of time-wasting materials. Don't pretend like you've got something better to do.
