jason vorhees

As a lifelong horror fan and Mortal Kombat devotee, I was thrilled when Jason was confirmed to be a downloadable character in Mortal Komat X. Horror tie-ins aren't new to the franchise, as Freddy Krueger was a (somewhat disappointing) DLC character in MK9, but now that I'm seeing Jason in action in MKX, it seems that he should have been there all along. Look no further than the fact that homeboy comes to the fight having already killed someone, dragging them across the ground impaled in the skull with his trademark machete. Fatality?

Funko has released the official list of characters it will have in its retro 80's action figure line (think Kenner era Star Wars figures), and it includes all of the major Universal Monsters and many 1980's horror icons.

The Universal Monsters include: Creature from the Black Lagoon, Invisible Man, Dracula, Bride of Frankenstein, Mummy, Phantom of the Opera, Wolfman and Frankenstein's Monster.

Meanwhile, the "Modern Horror" group consists of: Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger,Trick’R'Treat Sam, Pinhead, and Ghostface.

Not quite as scary as when Jason does it.

In the event that you have been living in a cave, there was a remake of a well known 80's slasher released this year called "Friday the 13th"! Now it's here for your viewing pleasure at home in both a theatrical flavor and a 'killer cut' which sounds cutting and edgy and down right amazing! Or so the marketing department hopes.

We keep our "Friday the 13th" review remarkably civil, considering how close Jason is to all of our hearts.
