If it's not a wide release, I generally consider it to be DTV, since the majority of people will discover it on video. Schnaars and his fancy New York theaters be damned.
I grew up in suburban Philadelphia, so I'm not much for any New York teams (read: I have to suppress my urge to kill any time I see a Giants/Mets/Knicks/Ranges jersey). But if forced to choose, I'll go with Mets every time. I like how they're sort of the red-headed step child of New York sports. Plus I live in Queens, so that's pretty much Mets-ville.

Where in Philly did your grow up? I actually went to Drexel over in University City for college. Where in Queens are you now? My grandparent's lived over in Middle Village and now my wife's parents live there in Glendale. (I always hated in "Spiderman" that Uncle Ben wore a Yankees cap even though they lived in Queens, clearly the filmmakers had never actually been to NYC)

Perkins is great in Da Vinci, she plays a herion addict that's framed for murder by a cop. But Da Vinci's Inquest isn't the inspiration for Cold Case, that the other canadian show that usually runs right after Da Vinci's Inquest, Cold Squad.
Also I wonder if Katharine Isabella got Perkin's the cameo in "Insomnia" since she was also in that funeral scene as the murder victim's best friend. Isabella and Pacino share a scene together afterwards.
Ginger Snaps 2 is amazing as well. It's a total shift in tone but it works so well and the stuff with the little girl is really disturbing.
Cube
Quick note: Cube wasn't a DTV release. It actually had a small theater release. I got to see it on the big screen on halloween when it first came out.

Fancy New York Theater
There's a reason we're the greatest city in the world.

Hollllllllar.

Well before I can holla back
Well before I can holla back you have to answer the all important NY question. Mets or Yankees?

Mixups
Between that and mixing up Ginger and Brigitte over and over, I was all about screwing things up in this episode.
That said, our Canadian listeners should still be impressed that I not only knew the name of a Canadian show, but someone who starred in it!
I don't know his name but
I don't know his name but Da Vinci's Inquest also has the guy who plays Doc Cottle on Battlestar Galatica.
Plus technically you knew of two canadian shows, you just got them confused.
