Night of Something Strange

"Night of Something Strange" Trailer Might Make You Want to Pack Some Protection

In the trailer for Night of Something Strange, sex is once again the catalyst for some very bad things happening to a group of young or young-ish adults. However, while this past spring's It Follows put a mostly psychological spin on the proceedings, Night of Something Strange goes in the complete opposite direction. A direction which involves ample amounts of blood, rotting flesh and - of course - genital-based tentacles.

The biggest question raised by the Night of Something Strange trailer has little to do with the origins or the nature of the zombie meets Slither-esque viral infection working its way through our cast of characters. No, the actual question is: How vile does a bathroom have to be before the woods become a more attractive, sanitary option? In the trailer’s early moments, a girl tries to hover herself over a blood-splattered toilet to do her business, fails, and gets infected with the previously mentioned zombie-STD. Instead of an evening of love-making in a motel on the road to the beach, she turns into the living dead and begins attacking her friends and the inhabitants of the motel. She does this with tentacles which emerge from her nether-regions. As if that wasn’t enough, the motel is also home to some shady redneck types who seem to have malicious intents of their own.

So to recap: Zombie/Slither STD, genital tentacles and crazed rednecks. Low budget or not, Night of Something Strange definitely checks off a lot of boxes. There's no release date yet, but according to the film's Facebook page, audiences can expect it sometime in 2016.
