Horror Headlines 3/28/08

So, a bootleg version of the "X-Files 2" trailer was blazin up the internets yesterday, only pretty much every copy has been torn down by Fox. So you have two options, Do a Youtube Search and see what you can come up with, or check out these 55 screencaps. Don't let anyone tell you we don't give you options.

Ex New-Line Producer Robert Da Luca started talking in an interview recently about a project he's working on called "Dracula Year Zero". Which he describes as an "origin" story for Prince Vlad, involving him becoming a vampire in order to defeat an invading army of invading Turks (damn Turks!). He describes the vibe as something of a mix between "Braveheart" and "Bram Stoker's Dracula". You know what? That actually sounds pretty sweet. Unfortunately the project is being helmed by Alex Proya, the man who brought us "I-Robot". I'll make a prediction and say that those Turks have never looked as fake as they will in this film.

Kane Hodder is starring in two serial killer pics coming up. "The BTK Killer" (aka the Bind/Torture/Kill Killer... sort of redundant) and a biopic of Ted Bundy. In the former, he's playing the titular killer, in the latter, he's playing the guy who had the pleasure of executing Bundy. It was a bummer that he didn't get the Jason role in "Freddy Vs Jason", but I'll go out on a limb and say that it ended up being a good thing for his acting career. We'd like to wish him good luck on his upcoming projects.

Lindsay Lohan has signed on to play one of the Manson girls, Nancy Pitman, in a film called... wait for it... "Manson Girls". Pitman was not involved in the infamous Tate/LaBianca murders, but she was convicted as an accessory after the fact. Too bad, somehow the thought of a coked out Lohan on a murderous Manson-like rampage is sort of entertaining. Oh well, guess we'll have to wait for that to happen in real life.

The sequel to "The Craft" has been reported dead in the water. Fortunately we've still got "The Lost Boys 2" to pick up the slack when it comes to sucking. So, no worries.

Finally today, more clips from "The Ruins". Hey, at least it's not a corny viral video like yesterday.

In Real People News:

A French couple who confessed in court to "Hunting Virgins", have been convicted on 7 counts of murder. You may be wondering why you would have to "hunt" virgins... but think about it, when was the last time you actually met one?

If you woke up this morning and your X-Box live profile says "I'm a filthy cheat" on it, you've been owned. I never thought I'd say this, but props to Microsoft!

On this day in history:

1979: Three Mile Island nuclear accident, Harrisburg PA.
