Horror News 3/13/08

Is "Ginger Dead Man 2: Passion of the Crust" the best title ever? Yes, yes it is my friends. Also, the trailer's not too shabby either. I'm assuming if you enjoyed the original film, then this one will deliver more of the same (except Gary Busey, how dare they!). Plus, this time it's got 80's scream queen Michelle Bauer, so... it's got that going for it.

I'm not sure which is more shocking, that Sylvester Stallone has written a bio-pic about the late Edgar Allen Poe, or that someone reviewed it and liked it. I guess stranger things have happened, but to be honest I can't think of any off the top of my head.

This interview with the creature designer from "Cloverfield" reveals some previously unknown details about old Clovie, including the reason for those strange appendages on it's belly, and the motivation of those little "parasite" duders that fall from the creature. It's not huge news, unless you're a total nerd for this movie like me. Read on for more.

Naomi Watts has some thoughts on both the remake of "Funny Games" (in theaters this month) and "The Birds" (some time next year) that she's starring in. Despite the fact that she's becoming the remake queen, that lesbian scene in "Mulholland Drive" has bought her at least a few more years of amnesty in my eyes. So, check the link if you're interested.

In Real People News:

A Dallas mother threw her two children, 6 and 8, off of an overpass during rush hour, and then proceeded to jump herself. The kicker? They all survived. I'm guessing Mother's Day is going to be a chilly affair this year.

On this day in history:

1881: An anarchist from the radical group People's Will throws a bomb which disrupts Czar Alexander II's motorcade. After he thanks God for his deliverance, the anarchist yells "It is too early to thank God" and throws a second bomb, causing injuries from which Alexander bleeds to death.
