Let's Play - The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth - Parts I and II

This past Friday, I picked up a new game and it took over my weekend!  On November 4th, Nicalis released a reboot of The Binding of Isaac and it's turned out that the improvements they've made over the original game are pretty big indeed.  When BoI originally came out, it was a game developed in Flash and it showed its limitations.  The controls where there, yet game pad support wasn't.  The graphics, though basic in their pixel art glory, showed some rough edges as well.  With this remake, we have a whole new game engine! That means better graphics, better support, plus new levels, bosses and content.

As a big fan of the roguelike genre here as of late, as well as an addict for most things labeled twin stick shooter, Binding of Isaac: Rebirth seemed like a pretty natural fit for me.  Seeing the 12 hours combined that my daughter and I put into the game this weekend, I'd say that was a good call.  The simple nature of the pick up and play aspect of the game makes it an easy one to get into.

Seeing as how my Shadowgate Let's Plays have proven fairly popular, yet feature a slower pace and more deliberate play style, I figured a small break was in order.  Variety is the spice of life and mixing things up with some faster and more disturbing action will help keep things interesting for the both of us! Don't worry though, we'll be getting back to Shadowgate this week. In the meantime, check out these two new Let's Play videos for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth and let us know what you think!

I'll be continuing through the game in coming days and weeks, but if you want to see even more stuff like this, make sure to let me know on Twitter, or send a note to the site on TwitterFacebook, or by email!
