It's Time to Have a Talk...

Unless today is your first time visiting our site, you're probably noticing the ad that now sits above each page. If you're a long time reader, you're also probably wondering what exactly is going on, and how this is going to affect Bloody Good Horror.

The answer is as follows. A few months ago we signed a contract to become part of the Spike Guys Tribe, a brand new internet ad Network that has been started by MTV Networks, and is aimed at targeting specific demographics with internet advertising. As a sub network of the Spike Tribe, we will be part of a "Horror Tribe", and as such will be part of a larger ad network targeted towards the horror consuming public.

Rest assured, other than a few ads here and there, things will not change around here one bit. We have not been sold, we are not being told what content to post/not post, and we still retain complete control over Bloody Good Horror. In fact, the relationship is specifically tailored to maintain the integrity of the brands Spike associates with.

In the coming months, you will start to see an increasing number of ads showing up in both the space at the top, as well as the square space in the right hand column. Since we have complete control over what ads are displayed, you can be confident you won't be seeing Hello Kitty banners any time soon. If at any time we feel like a campaign isn't suited to our users, we will have the right to opt out of it.

The bottom line is this; that every website costs some money to maintain, and because of our podcast and high bandwidth needs, this one is no exception. While we strive to be a true money making venture, we promise to never leave you, the reader, in the dust while doing so. The commercialization of the horror site has left the horror loving audience with a lack of honest voices, and it has been our goal all along to provide that to you once again. Our new affiliation will not change this, and in fact it will make us a stronger and more viable entity than ever before.

As always, feedback is appreciated, so feel free to leave it in the comments. And to all our long time readers, thank you for helping us reach the point that we're at today. We couldn't have done it without you.

PS - There is no new podcast this week because my laptop crapped out on me while editing last week's show. I'm hoping (cross your fingers for me) to have it back by this weekend, so we can finally review "Quarantine". In the meantime, I uploaded our "Cannibal Holocaust" episode for our newer listeners, so they can enjoy a diamond in the rough from our past. You can click here to subscribe and check that out. Sorry to those of you who crave your BGH fix every week, but we'll be back as soon as we can... promise!
