Isla Fisher in Visions

Isla Fisher Suffers “Visions” in New Trailer from Blumhouse

The horror factory that is Blumhouse Productions hasn’t slowed its pace yet. The trailer for its latest offering, Visions, has arrived. Don’t worry if you miss this one when it comes to theaters this September as Jason Blum’s perpetually busy company still has three more horror releases due out before the clock strikes 2016.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. What about Visions? In the film, Isla Fisher plays Julia, a mother-to-be who is suffering from lingering post-traumatic stress disorder following a devastating car accident. Seeking a fresh start, Julia and her husband David (Anson Mount) say “Good bye city life!” and move out to wine country. Instead of the relaxing life of a grape farmer or whatever it was she was looking for, Julia encounters eerie neighbors and is plagued by strange visions of exploding wine bottles, bloody handprints and sinister-looking hooded figures.

Maybe it’s the never-ending stream of supernatural flicks running through theaters – many of them bearing the Blumhouse label – but everything in the trailer feels familiar. The film’s best hope for success may be that its mostly likeable cast, which also features Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory and Gillian Jacobs of Community, will find a way to make it work. Visions was directed by Kevin Greutert, who also helmed Saw VI and Saw VII. It will be materializing in theaters on Sept. 17.
