First Glimpse of Daniel Radcliffe in Joe Hill's "Horns"

Earlier this year in Episode 6 of the Dad and his Weird Friends Podcast, I was quite blown away with Joe Hill's novel "Horns". It was a tale of good and evil and right and wrong, love and loss and a whole lot more and was a really great read. Early last week, I was completely oblivious to the fact that Alexandre Aja was turning the book into a feature length film. What tipped me over the edge into excitement for the project? The casting of Daniel Radcliffe as the main character, Ig Parrish!

Shooting has just now started on the film, so we're a long way off from seeing Ig Parrish brought to life. In fact, according to Entertainment Weekly, Radcliffe just sat down to try on the makeup for the first time... yesterday! From this first glimpse however, I think he looks dead like the character I pictured in my mind all along.

For those of you unfamiliar with the novel:

"Merrin Williams is dead, slaughtered under inexplicable circumstances, leaving her beloved boyfriend Ignatius Perrish as the only suspect. On the first anniversary of Merrin's murder, Ig spends the night drunk and doing awful things. When he wakes the next morning he has a thunderous hangover . . . and horns growing from his temples. Ig possesses a terrible new power to go with his terrible new look—a macabre gift he intends to use to find the monster who killed his lover. Being good and praying for the best got him nowhere. Now it's time for revenge . . .

It's time the devil had his due. . . "
