Album Review: Pord - Wild

Music is, in essence, the art of carefully controlling noise. In the massive spectrum of audible sounds, we have singled out the ones that are pleasing to us, and those are used as the basis for everything we choose to pour into our ears. The fact that it is still noise is forgotten, unless we are griping about a style of music we don't enjoy.

Album Review: KEN mode - "Venerable:

Longtime noise rock veterans KEN mode drafted another bassist and went back to the drawing board for their fourth recording, "Venerable." The Canadians, freshly armed with new producer Kurt Ballou (of Converge fame,) dive into the deep end of genre with no hesitation, leaving behind tame mantras and pushing the envelope of noise rock.

"Venerable" could be said to be a fine example of the noise rock idiom, but that's hardly a complete description, is it?
