BGH Thirsty Thursdays - "Shark Lake" Drinking Game

Here at Bloody Good Horror we spend much of our time talking about good movies and bad movies alike, and picking apart the things that place titles in either category. In horror specifically, there is a beautiful gradient, comprised of everything from "so bad it's good" to "just plain bad." For many movies in this grey area, the viewing experience itself - who you watch it with and how - can be as important as the movie itself. In that tradition, every first Thursday of the month we'll fondly recall one of those kinds of movies that seem made for the loud and alcohol-fueled viewing party, and give you the framework to host a screening of your very own, complete with imbibing instructions!

Note: BGH reminds you to respect the minimum age requirement for drinking in whatever god forsaken hellhole you live in.

With the start of June, summer is finally here and that means it's time for shark movies. Well, let's be honest, it's always time for shark movies for me, but in the summer I have a solid excuse to watch as many as I want and not be questioned. This month will even see the theatrical release of a new shark movie called The Shallows, starring Blake Lively.

For this month's Thirsty Thursday, we will be indulging what promises to be another bonkers shark movie starring another amazing celebrity, one Dolph Lundgren. The movie is called Shark Lake and, as the title suggests, it is about a fictional and shark-infested Lake Tahoe. What could be better? Did I mention Dolph Lundgren? And sharks?

So find yourself a shark-themed beverage and a trusty crew and, whatever you do, stay out of the water!

Rules:
  • Sip whenever you see a shark fin.
  • Drink whenever somebody bites it (yay, shark puns!)
  • Take a swig for every scene of oblivious merry-making.
  • Drink until the terrible CGI shark looks a little less terrible.
