i spit on your grave

It's been a hot minute since we heard anything about "Ouija" but according to the producers the film, based on the classic board game, is moving ahead swimmingly and may even hit theaters next October if all goes according to plan. I sounded really cool there for a second with my hip lingo right? "Hot minute". I'm like Eminem or something. I think I may have ruined it with "swimmingly" though. Old people say that.

Fox has dropped word that they'll be putting out a gaggle of new Blu-Ray releases next week, most notably for this sassy news writer is the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" which will be available at the rock bottom price of $13. The disc will hit shelves on September 11 and I'm not 100% sure what sort of special features will be available but if I was to guess, the $13 will get you the movie, a trailer and if you're lucky a DVD case. The last one might be pushing it though.

If there was ever a movie that didn't need a sequel it's "I Spit On Your Grave" but it looks like "Saw IV" writer Thomas Fenton has been tapped to pen the script for just such a film. No word as of yet on what the plot of the second installment of the "guys do awful things to a woman and then she kills them" flick but I can't imagine anything good will come from it. I would be nice if there was some actual spitting on graves though.

A while back we talked about Award Pictures and their quest to make an "Evil Dead" sequel without Sam Raimi or anyone else giving their sweet approval. Well after some paddling and what I assume was some pretty hefty lawyer bills it looks like Raimi has officially shut down production on the film. So I'm sorry folks. You will not get to see an "Evil Dead" that Sam Raimi has had nothing to do with and there is no chance of Bruce Campbell popping up in. I'm sorry.

I'm going to go ahead and thank the cast of "Glee" for this one. James Merendino, the guy who brought us "SLC Punk!" is set to takes the horns of a new vampire comedy flick called "Vampire Summer Camp". The movie will be about two rival musical summer camps, one of which is for young vampires. See you in hell FOX.

For all your Hammer fans out there, the horror movies not the kick-ass baggy pants guy, TCM will be showing 4 different Hammer Classics every Friday night during the Month of October. Can't touch this!

Here's a new NSFW clip from "I Spit on Your Grave". To be honest I haven't watched it because if it's not safe for work I'm 99% sure it's also not safe for my tender little peepers to see. That's just logic folks.

Michael J.Fox is apparently being pursued to have a recurring role in the upcoming MTV series "Teen Wolf". For you kids out there Mr. Fox played the lead in the original film all the way back in 1985. Turn your iPods off for 2 damn seconds and learn some history, you ungrateful bastards.

Danny Trejo and Erin Cummings are rumored to star in the biker gang revenge flick "Tarantula". Is it weird that I have a man crush on a 60+ year old ex-con? Yeah I thought so. Oh and don't think I didn't notice the last name Cummings.

There's a new clip out there for the upcoming "I Spit on Your Grave" remake and it's a real hoot. I've yet to figure out why this remake needed to happen but I have to say the cast really got the whole creepy white trash thing down. That's a plus, right? Right?

For the kids in the Los Angeles area you've got a chance to see the Stephen King classic "Maximum Overdrive" on the big screen. This film's got killer trucks, Lisa Simpson and a soda machine that hates guys balls so there's really no reason not to love it.

A new clip from "Dexter" Season 5 has found it's way online and I couldn't be more giddy about it. The news season premiers on September 26th and I've already got my special order of 50 wings in for that night. That really has nothing to do with the show I just really like wings... a lot.

Since what the world needs is another vampire movie right now, "Clueless" director Amy Heckerling and Alicia Silverstone are teaming up for the blood-sucking chick flick "Vamps". Vampire finding love in New York? As if!

On the remake front, Anchor Bay has reportedly snapped up distribution rights for Steven R. Monroe's remake of Meir Zarchi's 1978 exploitation epic "I Spit on Your Grave", which stars Sarah Butler, Daniel Franzese, Chad Lindberg, Rodney Eastman and Andrew Howard.

A batch of creepy stills have been released for the Filmax's English-language possession flick "Exorcismus". Considering this is from the studio responsible for "[Rec]" and "[Rec] 2", this should be worth a look.

After years of waiting patiently for its arrival on Region 1, Ji-Woon Kim’s over-the-top South Korean western "The Good, the Bad, and the Weird" is finally coming to North America courtesy of IFC. Better late than never, I suppose.

Director Steven Monroe talks details about his upcoming "I Spit On Your Grave" remake. Among his promises is a great performance from lead actress Sarah Butler, more brutality and more lead characters.

Sam Raimi signs on to produce "Alien Invasion". This is news worthy because Raimi's Ghost House Productions signed first time director Fede Alvarez to a multi million dollar deal based on his youtube short "Panic Attack".

Early rumors point to the possibility of Seth Grahame-Smith's "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" becoming a six part TV mini series.
