Horror Headlines: Wednesday October 24th, 2010

Here's some good news. Some jackass thought it would be a good idea to make a full length film based on the video for Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and now there's a bidding war going on. I hope this starts a trend, because I always wanted to see what happened to the couple in the "Take On Me" video. I hope those crazy kids got married.

Here's some hot new details on the story line for the next season of "True Blood". Cage fighters, crappy palm readers and me still feeling like less and less of a man with each passing episode.

Darren Aronofsky has set "Machine Man" as his next project. The movie will focus on a man with a talent for robotics who finds a way to upgrade his own body, with sexy results. Alright I don't know about that last part but if I was writing the script that's how it would go.

Karen Black, Sid Haig, Bai Ling and Traci Lords are set to star in a new horror flick titled "Go Straight to Hell". The movie will focus on the four strangers who have to confess the one sin they didn't repent for while on earth or be sent to hell. I'm just guessing Ling's has something to do with rolling around like a sex doll on TV and Lords' will most likely have to repent for that while underage porn thing.

Is there a "True Blood" movie coming in the near future? Apparently theirs rumors that creator Alan Ball and HBO are already in talks to bring the vampire hit that I watch on a weekly basis despite hating myself after to the big screen. I can't wait to see it and then cry about it after.

A new trailer for Simon Rumley's "Red, White & Blue" has popped up on the tubes and after watching it I feel like I need a shower. So I've decided to make a sarcastic comment about the "Iron Man 2" trailer that I had to watch before it rather then relive the trauma I felt. Man that Gwyneth Paltrow really looks like she's hooked on smack or something am I right? I think I'm right.

For those of you lucky enough to be in the London area, and I'm starting to think 75% of our readers are, you've got a one time chance to see Guillermo del Toro introduce and discuss his 1993 film "Cronos". The event is part of the Midnight Movies series and will take place on October 9th.

John Goodman has been added to the cast of Kevin Smith's "Red State". The film is about a bunch of kids fighting a group of crazed conservatives and Jon Goodman is not going to change the fact that I have no desire to see it. Honestly it was either this or I was going to tell you about 75 new "Saw 3D" images so you're welcome.

Bruce Campbell sat and dished a bit on "Bruce Vs. Frankenstein" in a recent interview. The planned sequel to "My Name is Bruce", the actor plans on filming during his next "Burn Notice" break and hopes to pack as many horror icons into the film as he can.

"Ghost Rider" fans, if there are any, can now prepare themselves for seeing Nic Cage's hair in glorious 3-D! Cage talked about the sequel in a recent interview were her hinted towards a 3-D installment as well as the involvement of Dracula. Yes, that Dracula.

Did you shed a little tear like I did when we saw the demise of Franklin on this season of "True Blood"? Cry no more fans, James Frain who portrays Franklin has signed on to the After Dark Original thriller "Transit" working along side the likes of Jim Caviezel and Diora Baird.

In case you forgot about the internet all together yesterday, AMC has finally released the official Comic Con trailer for "The Walking Dead". To weigh in on the subject is our crack Bloody Good Horror reporter, Me! "This show is going to be amazing!" Casey Criswell said during a recent BGH News Update. In addition to the stellar trailer, AMC has also let us know that "The Walking Dead" will debut this Halloween.

Horror Headlines: Tuesday June 22nd, 2010

Now becoming a daily occurrence, the upcoming "Fright Night" remake is in the news once more! The official casting appears to be over as the movie has been given a release date of October 7, 2011.

Even though the current season of HBO's "True Blood" is only two episodes in, the big wigs love it so much they've already renewed the show for a fourth season in 2011.

There's a new horror channel coming to your TV on October 1st, even though it's not exactly new; FEARnet has announced it will become a linear cable channel as opposed to its current on demand status. The channel will be broadcast in high def and hopefully remain uncut.

Disney appears to be poised to start on its first movie property after their buyout of Marvel comics as they've hired "Conan" scribes Thomas Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer to pen a feature length Doctor Strange film.

Horror Headlines: Monday June 25th, 2010

All signs are pointing to doom for ABC's "Happy Town" as the show has been yanked from its summer time slot, with plans to air the final two episodes on "some Saturday in July". It's pretty bad when they won't even give you a date for your finale.

In case you happened to miss it over the weekend, Snoop Dogg wrote a love song to Sookie Stackhouse, the lead character of HBO's "True Blood". Yah, that happened.

According to Elvira's "B" log, we can expect the return of Elvira's Movie Macabre later this year! Though there is no word yet on when or what station, she does make mention that the show will be nationally syndicated.

Late last week British actress Imogen Poots was cast as the female lead in the fast tracked "Fright Night" remake. I just wanted to be able to use the word 'Poots' in a news story.
