Horror Headlines: Friday December 19th, 2008

Good lord it's been a slow news week. Unfortunately next week probably won't be any better, but we'll continue to bring you the best in reviews and columns to help tide you over until things heat up again in January. I'll be out of town, but I will have my trusty laptop by my side. Casey may be filling in some on news, but that all depends on how lazy I become when faced with snow for the first time in 2 years. Only time will tell my friends, only time will tell.

"My Bloody Valentine 3D" releases its second trailer. I have a question for those uber-geeks out there... is my Macbook Pro capable of reproducing this new-fangled 3D? Because I would love to start seeing actual 3D internet trailers for these movies. Just a thought.

Tons of stuff for David Goyer's "The Unborn" is being released on the official site. It seems like there's been SOMETHING every day this week. You've got to give them credit for trying at least.

This poster for "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans" kind of blows. They had a great formula going, it's called "put the hot chick on the posters"... but then they went and screwed it up.

In Real People News:

The world is in utter disarray, food shortages threaten everyone but the most well off countries, and these assholes just had their 18th child. Nothing like good old fashioned, arrogant optimism.

Officers install GPS in the cars of some of their colleagues, find out they're home when they're supposed to be working. Your tax dollars hard at work folks.

Two New Zealand youths try to rob a convenience store with plastic bags over their heads, fail miserably. With great "passerby photo" of them being apprehended at the link.

On this day in history:

A Clockwork Orange opens, originally given an X rating. Censors objected more to the sex scenes than the violence. Director Stanley Kubrik later earns an R by removing some of the racier footage.
