Horror Headlines: Thursday, November 13th, 2008

The Television station "Monsters HD", is celebrating Thanksgiving with a zombie movie marathon, including "The Rage" and "Day of the Dead". The story also claims the movies will be online. In related news, I can't visit their website because it gives me the uncontrollable urge to change to Dish Network, and I can't afford it right now.

Sequel to "My Name is Bruce" is already being talked about. As long as Bruce Campbell whispers it sweetly into my ear, he can talk about anything he wants.

"Night of the Demons" has wrapped filming, and director Adam Gierasch is pretty excited about what he sees. In other news, he claims we will be seeing a trailer for the film in short order.

Not as if this is a surprise to anyone, but "Saw VI" has officially been greenlit for its October 2009 release. Apparently, contrary to what I had thought, V and VI were not shot back to back, so they don't even have a script yet.

I have to say, I like the teaser trailer for Roland Emerich's "2012" much more than I care to admit, but that may have to do with my obsession with the 2012 Mayan prophecy. Either way, wee!

We're still getting our "Cloverfield" sequel, but it's taking so long because they're just trying to find the right story. I'm actually surprised that someone in this day and age actually has the power to wait for the right story, but I guess that's the kind of clout you get when your film makes "Cloverfield" money.

In Real People News:

Another foot has washed up on a shore in British Columbia, making the 6th one in the past 15 months. In these uncertain times, it's nice to know that there's something consistent out there.

Remember that dude who robbed a bank a few months back and got away on an innertube down a river? Well he's been caught. Apparently they snagged DNA off of a Gatorade bottle he dropped at the scene. Hey, robbing and inner-tubing is quite the dehydrating activity.

Apparently the Agriculture Minster in Sweden is kind of a fan of the whole "peanut butter on the nuts + dog" trick. Okay not really, but he did explain the process in front a bunch of reporters, and that's hilarious.

On this day in history:

1974: Nuclear activist Karen Silkwood's car is forced off the road into an embankment, while travelling to an interview with author and New York Times reporter David Burnham. Her files were missing from the wreck, but a not-so-impartial FBI investigation concluded accident.
