Horror Headlines: Wednesday September 19th, 2012

Did you walk out of "The Expendables 2" and think, "there just isn't enough Sly Stallone in my life"? You're in luck! The near-geriatric star has announced that he will write/direct/star in the upcoming 3D feature "Monster" in 2014. The plot says Sly's fighting a monster that's on the loose in the arctic circle; he's getting up there in years, nobody tell him they already did a "Thing" prequel.

I'll admit, I'm behind the times and hadn't heard of "Sinister" until last week. After my first trailer in the theater and this new red band trailer from Summit Entertainment, you can color me excited. You can also color me sleepy and bedraggled like Ethan Hawk.

Stephen King has announced September 14th, 2013 as the release date for "Doctor Sleep", his sequel to "The Shining". Go ahead and just send him your money now.

Rupert Wyatt, director of the excellent "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" has left the production of "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes". Sources say Wyatt was unhappy with the studios rushed release date of May 23rd 2014, but I'm pretty certain he left to crush my hopes of an amazing sequel. Why you gotta be like that, Rupert?

In Real People News:

A Robbinsville, NJ man burst into an apartment knocking a woman from her wheelchair. He then proceeded to assault her 4 year old son, strip naked and attempt to jump out of the window! After recovering from her fall, the woman would have called the police... except the man who burst in was a Robbinsville Police Officer. Bet you didn't see that coming.

An Edina woman was charged with child endangerment for making her 11 year old nephew ride in the trunk of her Lexus. She didn't want him getting her leather seats wet. Come on people, leather. That stuff stains.
