Horror Headlines 6/3/08

I never thought there would be a news piece that would leave me speechless, then came this. Mel Brooks is thinking about producing a straight up horror film titled "PizzaMan". And apparently, his company BrooksFilms produced both 1980's "Fly" movies... Huh, guess you learn something new every day.

Bombshell rumor yesterday, as a tidbit made the rounds that Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, directors of "Inside" are in talks to direct "Halloween 2". This is a confusing story. The "Halloween" remake was ass, pure and simple, but "Inside" was freaking amazing. I'm also not really in favor of restarting the whole timeline of a franchise (now there will be two "Halloween 2's"?). Either way, this is intriguing news. More as it comes in.

Pictures from "Lost Boys 2: The Tribe". Nope, still not interested.

Alfred Molina and Ben Kingsley have been cast in Disney's "Prince of Persia" adaptation, alongside the already announced Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton. And the strange news continues...

Finally today, check out the long awaited Trailer for J.J. Abrams' TV show "Fringe". Enjoy folks.

In Real People News:

I'm not sure what's more newsworthy, that a 14 year old girl was abducted using World of Warcraft, or that some guy who plays WoW actually left the house long enough to drive from Alabama to Idaho to pick her up. Who says those people don't have motivation.

Police in Colorado are searching for two robbers who robbed a convenience store while wearing thong underwear over their faces. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that wouldn't really obscure your face, would it? I would think that a pair of granny panties would work much better.

On this day in history:

1998: The world's first fatal high-speed rail accident occurs when a train near Eschede, Germany derails and 101 people are killed.
