Horror Headlines: Monday February 22nd, 2009
Brad Dourif stars in "Fading of the Cries", a genre film made with the goal of "[creating] a visually exciting fantasy/horror film in modern times". Writer/Producer Brian Metcalf talks to Fangoria at the link, as well as provides a few stills from what looks like a really interesting indie film.
Dozens of stills from Frank Henenlotter's "Bad Biology", some NSFW. Henenlotter is a dangerous filmmaker on the fringe of horror cinema, known for such 80's classics as "Basketcase", "Brain Damage" and "Frankenhooker". "Bad Biology" still has no release date in the US, but there are tons of pics at the link, and it will be hitting DVD in the UK on March 2nd.
We posted the trailer yesterday, and now we have the cover art for "S. Darko", the Richard Kelly-less sequel to his 2000 cult hit "Donnie Darko". This one stars Daveigh Chase, who played Donnie's little sister in the original film, and deals with her journey to understand what happened to her brother while figuring out how that affects her own destiny.
So, the MPAA has given Rob Zombie's "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto" an "R" rating" for "strong crude and sexual content throughout, nude graphics, language, violence and gore". Not listed here, "gratuitous redneck worship", "nepotism" and "dreadlocks past the age of 30". Ya, I thought it was weird they started rating him personally too, but I guess they're getting drunk with power over there.
And finally today, two new TV spots for the "Last House on the Left" remake, which hits theaters March 13th.

The Navy is so concerned about robot rebellion, they've written a report and released it, stating that we need a "strict warrior code" for our war machinery in order to avoid the risks of "untold atrocities". I guess it really does all come back to "I, Robot".
