The DVD Bargain Bin

A collection of five spooky shorts, Beneath the Flesh dubs itself as "Kafka meets Lynch meets Burroughs via Cronenberg." That seems pretty generous but we'll see.

GIANT SNAKES! GIANT SNAKES! Do you really need to know anything more about this flick that's shot entirely on green screen? How about the fact that Carnivorous stars DMX? And GIANT SNAKES!

Dina and Ronnie are a broke couple who find themselves unexpectedly pregnant with no means to raise the child. What else to do but to sell the adoption rights to the highest bidder? They figure they've come across a great plan until they underestimated Paul and Maria, the couple who wants to buy the baby. Turns out they have agenda all their own. Hindsight stars Jeffrey Donovan of "Burn Notice" fame, so it's got that going for it.

Shannen Doherty teams of with "Stargate SG-1" star Michael Shanks in The Lost Treasure of the Grand Canyon a... wait for it... SciFi Channel original movie! Doherty's dad was a Smithsonian researcher who discovered a lost Aztec city in the depths of the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately for him, it's filled with Aztec ghosts and monsters and he disappears. It's up to Doherty and Shanks to head in and find him.

In The Devil's Tomb Cuba Gooding Jr. heads up an elite team of soldiers sent in to rescue a scientist in a secret underground lab. The scientist you see, he's release some ancient evil. Good or not, "Devil's Tomb" has a pretty big B-Movie cast including Ron Pearlman, Henry Rollins, Bill Mosely and Ray Winstone, so I'd say it's worth a shot. I'm a sucker for adventure movies though, so take that statement for what it's worth.
