Trailers: "The Raven" confounds

I love me some John Cusack as much as the next guy but ya, this looks terrible. Thankfully it still says "COMING SOON", so we won't have to sit through it for a good long while.

Trailers: "LIQUID RED', prepare your mind to be 'effed

This looks psychotic. Sign me up.

"LIQUID RED" was recently completed and will be released later this year.

Trailers: "Snowtown Murders" looks great, mate...

This film was made in Australia, so I put "mate" in the title, get it? I'm told you can't be a major horror site unless you write unbearably awful titles for your posts, so there you go. Coming up tomorrow I predict a young actor will "sink their teeth" into a role in a new vampire film. You just watch.

Anyway, this true-crime film was based on a real incident down under. It gets a small release via IFC films March 2nd, so keep an eye out. Looks creepy.

Trailers: "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" has one now

All my comments from my earlier post still stand. Schnaars is going to hate this so much, I can't wait.

Trailers: "Beyond the Black Rainbow", so retro it hurts

YES. Yes to all of this...

Trailers: "Ringu" is back, J-Horror cycle will never die

I always thought the American remake of "Ringu" was the better film when compared to the original. It's an opinion I realize isn't widely shared in the greater horror community, but then again, being a contrarian is kind of my thing, I'm ok with it. Anyway, Japan has decided to resurrect the series with "Sadako 3D", named after the original film's antagonist. She was by far the scariest thing about that original, so let's hope they bring back the original actress. I didn't feeling like sifting through terrible Babelfish translations all day to find out if they did.

Trailers: "Osombie", if Bin Laden were undead

Looks like I've found my next staff-pick for the podcast, unless Uwe Boll releases a new film first.

Trailers: Oren Peli's "The River", coming up quick

Oren Peli, the man who masterminded the "Paranormal Activity" series, debuts an ambitious new TV show this coming Tuesday night on ABC. Looks intriguing, the big question being how long can they keep the show on the rails given the gimmicky nature of the story. Thankfully I still have a few days left to find ABC on my TV. Can't remember the last show of theirs I actually watched.

Poster/Trailer: ATM, is it ever okay?

Good question, but not why we're here today. We're here to check this trailer and poster for "ATM", currently making the festival rounds. Looks like it could be effective, if you're willing to buy the premise that wherever they're stopping to get food wouldn't take credit cards, necessitating a trip to an ATM in a massive, empty parking lot with no other stores around. Let's face it though, as horror fans, we make ignoring obvious flaws into an artform. It's a survival mechanism.

Trailers: "The Shrine", from the guy who brought you "Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer"

Even though there's not a lot that's inspired looking to this trailer, the words "From the guy who brought you Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer" is enough for me to give this a shot. I will say, the visual style looks great. How does monster Robert Englund fit in here? Only time will tell...
