With AMC's upcoming "The Walking Dead" series starting to gel, it's only natural that casting rumors would start flying, including rumors about the casting for the integral role of Rick Grimes. As with all rumors, they have to be taken with a grain of salt, but the three names supposedly in the running include Jamie Bamber from "Battlestar Galactica", Mark Pelligrino from "Dexter" and "Lost" and "Stewart Townsend". Of course this begs the question; who would be your choice to play Rick Grimes?

The vampire trend of the last few years is ready to die down as wolves step up to take their place. In keeping with the trend, Bradley Cooper will be re-teaming with Joe Carnahan in "The Grey" which pits the survivors of a plane crash against a pack of hungry wolves.

Word is circulating that Dark Castle Entertainment is on the verge of distributing Vincenzo Natali's "Splice". From what we've seen of early screen shots, this is exciting news.

"Splice" has the solid pedigree of coming from "Cube" director Vincenzo Natali and executive producer Guillermo del Toro. It stars Sarah Polley and Adrien Brody as geneticists who successfully engineer an new animal species - conveniently keeping under wraps that they've used human DNA to do so. The new genetic lifeform ages rapidly enough to have a reported sex scene with Adrien Brody. I haven't seen the adult monster design but so far there ain't nothing pretty about that mental picture, folks.

In this hi-res image from "Splice", Canadian actress Sarah Polley approaches a half-human, half-animal hybrid that she and another scientist helped create. As with most things of this nature, the beautiful creature eventually turns on its creators and things get deadly. Directed by Vincenzo Natali ("Cube") and produced by Guillermo Del Toro ("Pan's Labyrinth"), "Splice" will have its American debut at the Sundance Film Festival in January, before going wide across Europe in early 2010.

Here's 3 clips from "The Stepfather" remake about to descend on multiplexes across the country. Good lord, this is not going to end well for anyone.

The one-sheet for "Daybreakers", a futuristic vampire film starring Ethan Hawke, landed on MTV today. Very "Matrix"-like... interesting.

New stills from Vincenzo Natali's "Splice"... aka, "running with cats"? I'm just as confused as you are, but I know that this film looks prettye excellent. No word on US distribution yet but we'll let you know as soon as we find out.

Adrian Brody and Sarah Polley star in the new film "Splice" about two genetic engineers and the creature they create when they splice together human and animal DNA. Written and directed by Vincenzo Natali of "Cube" fame, while the film looks kind of silly, I will totally give it my open mind in hopes it comes close to Cube's compact tension building mind-fuck.
