In a recent interview "Saw 3D" scribe Patrick Melton confirms that the 3D outing will be the last film for the franchise. Until next week when they announce that they're going to remake the original film next year or something equally silly.

Looking for your big break into the world of horror filmmaking? You're in luck; Dee Snider has begun casting for extras on "Strangeland II: Disciple".

"Cloverfield" director Matt Reeves lets MTV know that "Cloverfield 2" is definitely in the cards. He also insists that the teasers for J. J. Abrams "Super 8" are not connected to "Cloverfield" at all.

Horror Headlines: Thursday July 8th, 2010

"Repo: The Genetic Opera" is coming to The Wings Theatre in NYC this Saturday July 10th. Between this, the heat wave and the inevitable LeBron James rejection that's coming I thank god I'm getting out of the area this weekend. I predict riots in the streets before the second chorus of whatever god awful song opens up that thing.

In preparation for tomorrows release of "Predators" Robert Rodriguez and Nimrod Antal sat down to discuss the filming process and why someone would name their child Nimrod. That second part was cut from the interview I think. Look for it on the Blu-Ray special features though!

A trailer for the new season of the VH1 show "Scream Queens" is online and to be honest is a little disappointing. The contestants will once again compete for a role in the next "Saw" film but no James Gunn this season and from what I can tell no ridiculously over sized fakes breasts. Really I could have let the James Gunn thing go but I'm not sure if I can get past the other.

Hot news for everyone heading out to Comic-Con. The cast of "Dexter" will be doing a panel discussion as well as premiering a new trailer for season 5 which hits Showtime on September 26. There's also going to be a lot of attractive women dressed up in skimpy superhero outfits. But you're probably more excited about the "Dexter" thing. Nerds.

"Ju-On" 5 and 6 are on their way stateside. Not sure what they're about? Watch the other 4, that should give you a pretty good idea.

If ever there were a series made for a hollow gimmick like the new 3D technology, it's definitely "Saw". You'll find quotes from one of the Producers on how the development process for the next film is going, and the ways they're trying to utilize the 3D at the link.

Check out all the entries for the "Instant Films 48 Hours Film Festival". Among the entries you'll find a film called "Shut up! I Said Shut Up!", by "Alien Raiders" director Ben Rock.

Paramount Pictures plans to release a new web series titled "Circle of Eight" on Myspace on October 27th. Yup, I said Myspace. Apparently that place still exists.

Hammer is venturing into the horror novel market.

A ton of sneak peak videos from the "Night of the Creeps" DVD. Fred Dekker's 80's classic finally comes home to your collection in a few weeks.

Little birdies are telling me that the trailer for "The Wolfman" will be hitting the internet today. However since I get up at the crack of dawn like an old man, it's not up yet. Check back for updates???

ABC is at the top of the heap when it comes to picking up "Clive Barker's Hotel", the series being written by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. It also turns out that McG's production company is in talks to produce, with the possibility that old G might take a hand at directing down the line.

A movie that doesn't exist yet, "Resident Evil: Afterlife", has a release date set for August 27th, 2010. That's a little more than a year away.

Say what you will about the people behind "Saw", they they sure know how to make awesome posters.
