Retro Trailer: "Mirror Mirror" (1990)

When shy Goth girl Megan (Rainbow Harvest) moves to a new town with her recently widowed mother (Karen Black), she has a bit of trouble fitting in with her peers. Taunted by her classmates, she does manage to begin a friendship with a two teens from school, Nikki and Ron. While unpacking at her new house, Megan discovers an antique mirror that manages to keep reappearing, even after it is taken out with the trash. Soon Megan finds that the mirror holds the power to grant wishes. For a price, that is... (Insert evil laughter here).

Retro Trailer: "Pin" (1988)

Medical dummies are just plain creepy. Even creepier? When said dummy is used by an emotionally distant father, who uses his ventriloquist skills to make his children believe that it's alive, which is the case in the 1988 flick "Pin". A father (Terry O'Quinn) uses a life size medical dummy named Pin to communicate with his children, Leon and Ursula. Ursula knows that it is just a dummy, but Leon believes Pin is real. But when both parents are killed in a car accident, Leon and Ursula must cope with their death.

Retro Trailer: "Lovers Lane" (1999)

In celebration of the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday, I thought we'd take a look at a movie that reflects the true meaning of the holiday: blood and guts and crazy people. The movie "Lovers Lane" takes the plot of an old urban legend we've all heard before and turns it into a slasher flick. An escaped mental patient with a hook in place of his hand, returns to a town 13 years after he murdered lovers lane sweethearts to continue his reign of terror on unsuspecting teens. Watch for Anna Faris as a cheerleader!

Retro Trailer: "Are You Scared?"

I tend to pride myself on the crazy amounts of crappy horror movies that I can tolerate and most of the time, enjoy. So when I was home sick from work this week, Netflix Instant Watch became my best friend.

Retro Trailer: "Far From Home" (1989)

Drew Barrymore stars in this low budget thriller as 14 year old Joleen Cox, an angsty teen who is finishing a cross country trip with her dad when they run out of gas in a small desert town in Nevada. They wind up stuck in an old trailer park full of every stereotypical trashy character you can think of. While Joleen's father is searching for gas and chatting up fellow stranded drivers, Joleen catches the eye of two of the local boys. Admist all this, there's a killer on the loose, who seems to be targeting Joleen.

Retro Trailer: "Uninvited" (1988)

Ok, so let's just get this out in the open: If you haven't already figured it out, I am a fan of truly awful 80's cheese. I mean I like some REALLY bad stuff. Like "Uninvited," a movie about a cute cuddly kitty who has a mean mutant kitty living in it's mouth that kills people. The movie is full of bad dialogue, bad acting, bad special effects and tons of cheese. It's the perfect movie to watch with a bunch of friends and a case (or three) of beer.

Retro Trailer: "Bloody New Year" (1987)

Ok, ok, ok. So, technically this movie does not take place on New Year's Eve or Day, but when a group of shipwrecked teens take shelter in an abandoned hotel, it's decorated for New Years, even though it's the middle of summer. And basically what ensues is a ghost story-meets "The Evil Dead" type of tale, full of spooks, time warps, zombies and demonic possessions. A few decent scares and fun cheese can't quite make up for the bad effects and lack of logic, but at least the story line attempts to be original. It's worth a look if you are a fan of 80's cheese.

Retro Trailer: "Elves" (1989)

When most of us think about Christmas, it's only natural that we think of nazi experiments involving elves, am I right? That's right, today we are taking a look back at the 1989 Christmas classic, "Elves." Now try to follow me with this plot: Troubled teen Kirsten and her friends hold a seance ritual in the woods and awaken an elf. Not elves as the movie title suggests. Just. One. Elf.

Retro Trailer: "Chainsaw Sally" (2004)

When I heard about the Shock-O-Rama movie, "Chainsaw Sally," about a girl (April Monique Burril) who is a quiet librarian by day and a chainsaw wielding killer by night, I knew I just had to see it. Written and directed by Jimmyo Burril, the film is quite entertaining although the production quality and acting is, at times, a bit cringeworthy. The film not only features cameos by Gunnar Hansen and Herschell Gordon Lewis, but it has also inspired a web series, "The Chainsaw Sally Show."

Retro Trailer: "Evil Bong"

I'm not sure how a gem like this could have come out in 2006 and I completely missed it.

3 college stoners (who bear an uncanny resemblance to some of my high school boyfriends) find an ad for an evil bong (named Eebie). The more they use this bong, the more humanlike characteristics the bong develops, eventually drawing from their very souls!
