Horror Hosts

Over the weekend of March 26th through March 28th, we here at Bloody Good Horror attended Horrorhound Weekend in Indianapolis, IN. It's an annual pilgrimage for the podcast crew and this year, we added the company of some of the staff writers to the mayhem as well! We weren't the most exciting part of the show however.

No matter what you think about the upcoming “H2: Halloween 2” film, you gotta love Bill Moseley. I’ve been a fan every since he played Chop Top in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2”. Well Mr. Moseley was to play "Uncle Seymour Coffins" in the second installment Rob Zombies “Halloween” reboot, but unfortunately a few weeks back was replaced by the dude you see above. He's Haddonfield’s very own Creature Double Feature host who brings the best in horror to the masses every Friday night at 10:30 on channel 18.

I recieved a link to this show last week, and in light of Tor's recent review of the documentary "American Scary", I thought it was the perfect time to bring it up. What you have here is a fan-produced series "B-Rated". Essentially you have a corny horror host, and then a psuedo-intellectual reviewer who takes apart truly awful movies and gives them more thought than they deserve. It's all pretty entertaining, and dare I say, shockingly well produced for something put together by fans.

Sometime around 1977, I became aware of a late night phenomenon here in The San Francisco Bay Area. Through a series of overnights stays at the homes of friends with much more lenient parents than my own, I discovered a program called "Creature Features". Its host was a quiet, four-eyed, stogy-smoking oddball named Bob Wilkins.

Though reluctant to let you Mac users into our sheltered world of PC's and Xbox 360's, the Netflix streaming servers continues to bolster its available libraries, which equates to easy horror fixes for us addicts!
