halloween 2

The writer of "Sorority Row" and "Piranha 3D" updates his blog with news/thoughts on both films, both of which he feels are going to turn out really well. "Sorority Row" is apparently completely finished at this point, and according to him lives up to his original script, which as he says was "Scary. Funny. Tense. Stylish. Bloody. Sexy". I did actually get most of that from the trailer, so consider me excited.

Here are the specs for the new "Night of the Creeps" DVD, and damn, I have to say they're going all out with the special features. Once this one's off our list, what's the next big horror title that needs to be released on DVD? My other major one was "Phantasm II", but that one was also announced recently.

Just as I was ranting on the podcast last night about how much I dislike Rob Zombie's "Halloween", up popped the news on Twitter that the full official site for the sequel is now live. It was interesting timing, to say the least.

Megan Fox tells MTV that Jonah Hex is going to be amazing. She also says that blah blah blah God damn she's hot.

More pics from Rob Zombie's "Halloween 2". I only post them because the director's cut of "Halloween" is our topic for discussion next week on the podcast, so I have to subject myself to it this weekend. I'm currently devising ways to try and stop the pain while it's playing. Suggestions welcome.

First stills from the Woody Harrelson zombie comedy "Zombieland", or as I like to call it, "a probably fun film that will most assuredly be the official zombie jumping the shark moment when historians look back to this time".

Marcus Nispel officially has the job directing the "Conan" remake. This has Schnaars really broken up, he was really hoping Brett Ratner would get the job.

Some bloody "Piranha 3D" pics. I'm marginally excited for this. I would say "really excited", but let's not forget that "Mirrors" wasn't supposed to be the funniest film of last year. It's hard to tell what will happen when Aja actually tries to be funny... he is French after all.

Neil Marshall is reportedly in talks to direct the "Predators" sequel for Robert Rodriguez. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go find my head because it just blew straight off my fucking shoulders.

Sam Raimi's latest horror film "Drag Me To Hell" opens everywhere today.

A look at H.G. Lewis' "Grim Fairy Tale", with interview and the first set of stills from the film. Looks like some splattery fun to me.

Now if you'll excuse me, I think I might require some "alone time" with the "Jennifer's Body" comic. That is all.

Here's a nice little BTS video from "Saw VI". Mostly fluff, but not a bad watch for a minute and a half. The newest installment lands this Halloween.

Van Damme comes to horror? After his next action film he says he's all set to star in "Breed", about "a village where strange things happen". Boy does that guy have a way with words. I'm sure this will turn out just great.

It doesn't have a wacky title, but today's Indie shoutout goes to "A Mannequin in Static". Go check out the trailer at the site, comes recommended from me.

Mezco snags the rights to "Halloween 2" toy production. They're usually a solid company when it comes to these things, so no worries here.

Brett Easton Ellis is writing an original screenplay in the vein of horror, about "an awkward social outcast who takes hostage a group of peers who humiliated him, with grim results". Given Ellis' sensibilities, this could be a very dark project. Stay tuned for more.

Connie Britton ("Friday Night Lights", "Spin City") has landed the role of Nancy's mother in Platinum Dunes' "A Nightmare on Elm St.", making her officially 100 times hotter than Nancy's mom in the original film.

"Saw VI" has officially wrapped filming, meaning we should start seeing the first stills/footage pretty soon.

MTV has a new still of Michael Myers in "Halloween 2" that I actually like. I figured that was newsworthy right there.
