Interview

Dani Filth Talks New Book

This is considerably more commercial sounding material, coming across like the bastard son of Tool mixed with At The Gates

How did it feel to finally finish "Gospel of Filth" so many years after its inception? Did you feel it was complete?

It was on the cusp of massive relief even up to a few days ago when it finally managed to claw it's way down to the printers!

After several years of cooking, outspoken Cradle of Filth frontman Dani Filth has completed his book, "Gospel of Filth"...

Steven Sheil Talks "Mum & Dad"

I think that there’s a lot of talk in the UK about family and parenting and a lot of worries about ‘Broken Britain’ – this idea that society is collapsing.

Are you a big horror fan? What films would you say influenced it the most?

The director talks about the hysteria around crumbling families in the UK, filming torture scenes, and showing "Mum & Dad" to his parents for the first time.

Toby Wilkins On "Splinter", "The Grudge 3"

Give people the chance to see a film on their own terms, in as many ways as possible, and hopefully it will find an audience.

You made short films for a long time before moving on to features. Is that a format you really enjoy? What was the motivation for sticking with it so long?

The currently hot genre director talks monster movies, sequels, and the need for innovation when it comes to film distribution.

Bobbi Sue Luther, Rob Hall on "Laid To Rest"

It certainly was a great crash course as far as producing movies was concerned. Luckily I had Rob there to guide me.

- Bobbi Sue Luther

You started acting in 2003. What made you decide to take the leap?

The Writer/Director and Producer/Lead Actress sit down with us to chat about their new slasher, out on DVD this week.

Edward Anderson Talks "Shuttle"

It’s the only ending that makes sense, in part because it’s honest.

What was your initial inspiration for "Shuttle"?

I was on an airport shuttle van and my mind just wandered. There’s a bigger context to the film, something that was thinking about around that time, but it falls into spoiler territory so we can’t to go there.

You recently screened the film at the SXSW, how was the audience reaction?

The director of this new thriller from Magnolia Entertainment talks about the making of his low budget nail-biter.

Ben Rock talks "Alien Raiders"

For my money, it's best to do as much as possible practically.

- Ben Rock

So what were the origins of "Alien Raiders"?

It was actually an idea of Dan Myrick's. His idea was to set something fantastic and grandiose like an alien invasion film in the most mundane place of all - a supermarket. The title at the time was actually "Supermarket".

Peter Cornwell Talks "The Haunting in Connecticut"

You want a film like this to feel real.

So being from Australia, was it always your goal to come to America to make movies? How did your career get started?

Including what changes were made from test screenings, his influences on the film and landing an actress the caliber of Virginia Madsen.

Anthony Masi Talks "His Name Was Jason"

I guarantee you people would know who Jason was more than the President.

So I see you've done a lot of work on DVD special features. Was that something you set out to do?

The producer of "Halloween: 25 Years of Terror" spills the beans on his new Jason doc.

Craig Singer talks Perkins 14 and After Dark

At one point this would have been considered very experimental, and now it really seems inevitable...

So let's start off with the basics... what kind of horror films influence you the most?

The director of "Death Ride" and "Perkins 14" discusses working with the After Dark Horror Fest and pushing the boundaries of fan participation in the filmmaking process.

Patrick Lussier Talks My Bloody Valentine 3D

We talked about it, and my first reaction was wasn't that the film where someone gets killed with wiener water?

So you guys ended up getting the R rating without any real problems. Were you at all concerned?

Well, with any R rated film it's a thing right? You're wanting to make sure that you're leaning over the edge but not falling into it.

The MBV director talks about remaking a Canadian horror classic in 3D, and why he describes the film as "Scream meets Twin Peaks".
