Interview

Rob Schmidt

The "Alphabet Killer" director talks about the debut of his new film, as well as being confronted by relatives of the real life victims the story is based on.

Crime creates pain... There's been a lot of real suffering that occurred around those cases.

So this is your first feature film since you director "Wrong Turn". How would you describe the film?

First let me say that Alphabet Killer is a supernatural thriller, it's not a horror film. I was kind of bummed out because the international sales guys really sold it as a horror film. I love making movies like "Wrong Turn", but this isn't a movie like that.

Darren Lynn Bousman

Saw 2-4 director Darren Lynn Bousman stops by to talk about his road tour for "Repo! The Genetic Opera", and defends the film against some of the harsh criticism it has garnered since its release.

What I don't respect is personal attacks. I guess that's the thing that kind of took me by surprise.

So when does your Repo! tour start?

It starts November 10th, and we go till November 17th. One city every night, one showing.

I know this has been a real passion project for you. How long has the idea been around?

Timothy Friend

The director of "Bonnie and Clyde Vs Dracula" stops by to explain to us exactly what he was thinking when he mashed those things together.

The concept of the film is pretty out there, where did you first get the
idea from?

Jay Lee

The Zombie Strippers director stops by to chat about working with Jenna Jameson. Who doesn't want to know about that?

I've heard you describe the film as an homage to Grindhouse movies. What are some of the more obscure titles that are your favorites?

Chris Lund

We sit down with director Chris Lund to decipher our chances of surviving the outbreak.

So where did this whole idea come from?

The idea came from years of doing interactive work. Just being around all the latest stuff being done is a big help towards thinking on the right track. These days, every other client tries to do something viral, but it's extremely tough for a client to achieve that, especially when they're trying to market a brand at the same time. The Outbreak, being self-funded, had the luxury of having no one else to satisfy but ourselves.

Jon Knautz

The director of Jack Brooks Monster Slayer stops by to chat us up, and drops some juicy sequel details while he's at it!

I've got nothing against CGI, I loved "Iron Man", but for this we wanted to go back to the old school 80's stuff.

So what were your biggest inspirations for Jack Brooks?

Andrew Green

Schnaars talks to Andrew Green, a marketing guru working with "Dead Space", an all American survival horror game coming soon from EA.

Would you describe your role as focusing more on grassroots or do you try to stay away from that word?

Brad Dourif

The question you need to ask yourself is, are you ready to get inside Brad Dourif's head?

We're frightened by things that we can't put a face on.

So how did you land the role of Charles Lee Ray?

Don Mancini

A conversation with Writer/Director Don Mancini in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the release of "Child's Play". In this, Part 1, Don takes us on the long journey from original script to final cut on the first film. Stay tuned for Part 2!

Andrew Bonime

We're talking C.H.U.D!

The director's cut which was contractually given to Doug was awful.

On your site you go into detail about the long writing process of "C.H.U.D."... did you ever think about just picking it up and finishing it yourself? Have you ever had any aspirations to write?
