On The Next Podcast: "Monsters"

This week after a long run of theatrical releases the gang finally gets to stay at home and check out Gareth Edwards' “Monsters”. Despite a decent amount of buzz around this one I still have no idea what it’s about. To be honest even after reading the description I’m still a little clueless. I pray actually watching the movie will resolve this. If not it’s going to be an interesting discussion. Synopsis and trailer after the jump.

Relive Your Childhood With "Organ Trail"

Remember all the joy and fun you had as a kid playing "Oregon Trail"? Or if you're not old I should probably ask if you even remember Oregon Trail at all. If you don't then don't bother looking it up, because the good people at The Men Who Wear Many Hats have made it better. Kids, I present to you "Organ Trail". A revamped version of the Apple classic that features what every game needs, zombies. Load up your station wagon, gather supplies and head off on a cross country adventure. The best part? It's free to play online!

Bloodtoberfest Week 4: You Put What in My Beer?

So now that I've made you all beer experts, you're welcome by the way, I thought it would be nice to explore some of the more unusual ingrediants that brewers are using out there. If you've ever heard someone rant about the big breweries you've probably heard the term "adjuncts" tossed around. They're pretty much any unmalted grain that gets added to a beer, often things like rice or corn that are used to cut costs. In some regions of Bavaria still follow the Reinheitsgebot, a law that dates back to the 16th century that states beer can only be made with water, barley and hops.

Bloodtoberfest Week 3: The Drinking Songs and the Beers To Drink While You Sing Them

If you had the pleasure of being at Horror Hound Weekend last March you may have gotten some video of a bunch of guys dressed up like monsters juggling fire in the courtyard of the hotel. It was an amazing sight. If you have a video of this happening you may also be in for another treat if you turn the volume way up. You may get to hear a jackass screaming Rusted Root’s "Send Me On My Way" in the background. That jackass is me, I like to sing when I get drunk.

Trailer: First Trailer For "Scream 4" Hits

Today we’ve got the first trailer for "Scream 4" and if you liked the original film but have no interest in seeing what the original teenage heartthrobs look like 15 years later then you’re in luck. Out with the old and in with the new seems to be the theme of things here as those dried up old tarts from "Melrose Place" have been replaced by today’s hottest young starlets. I couldn’t be more excited if they had 25% of the cast from "Heroes" in here. Wait they do? Jackpot!

Video: Adam Green Shows the Danger of the Honor Bowl

Everyone's favorite creator of "Hatchet" Adam Green is back again with his annual Halloween short film. This year his Greenness schools us on the time honored tradition of the "honor bowl" and the dangers of not respecting it. In short, hilarity ensues, sort of. Not really. Whatever just watch the video and if you don't like it there's a related video of some girl who calls herself QueenofBlendingMUA talking about some contest and painted like a cat that's a lot creepier. Whatever rocks your world sickos.

Bloodtoberfest Week 2: None More Black: The World of Stouts

There's something inherently manly about drinking a big ass pint of stout. Even someone like myself who prides himself on not being a beer snob feels a certain sense of superiority when I'm standing in a bar full of "men" drinking Bud Lights while I'm hoisting up a big meaty glass of full on pitch black beer goodness. And by no means do I mean this to be sexist. If you're a gal who enjoys knocking back a few stouts then I solute you and also ask this question. What brand of tampon did you just send your husband/boyfriend out to buy for you?

Trailer: "Dracula's Daughters Vs the Space Brains" starring Neil Patrick Harris

The last National Lampoon movie I saw had Topanga from "Boy Meets World" on a boat that was also a school or something like that. It wasn't bad, I'll always have a special place in my heart for Danielle Fishel. But that was years ago and now apparently they've landed Neil Patrick Harris and that guy is awesome. The film is called "Dracula's Daughters vs the Space Brains" and I have absolutely no idea what it's about and for the most part don't care. There's half naked women, terrible CGI, Doogie Howser and Penn Jillette did the voice over for the trailer.

Enter the Bloody Good Horror Halloween Costume Contest

It’s Halloween time again kids and we here at Bloody Good Horror have decided to grab the holiday by the lips and yank.

Bloodtoberfest Week 1: The Spooky Beers

It’s that time of year again kids and I couldn’t be more excited. For us horror geeks it’s a time where we crack open all of our favorite flicks and go nutty for a full month. For beer geeks it’s the time of year when some of the best seasonal beers hit the shelves and everyone straps on some lederhosen to celebrate Oktoberfest. All in all for a guy like me it’s pretty much heaven for 31 days. It's also a great time to sound like a obnoxious prick by repeatedly pointing out that Oktoberfest is actually in September, but that's a different post.
