New “Survival of the Dead” Viral Video

I can’t say expectations are very high for George Romero’s “Survival of the Dead” around here but that isn’t stopping the makers from going nutty with the internets. There’s a myspace page, a twitter blog and a video series which recently released its second installment.

Happy Madison's "The Short Cut" Trailer

So when I first read that Adam Sandler's production company Happy Madison was making a horror movie I had some high hopes. I thought we might be getting a pretty decent little horror/comedy film that would at least be entertaining. Well unfortunately “The Short Cut” doesn’t look very funny… or scary… or good for that matter.

Tennessee Boy Cries Blood

Here’s a fun one to wake you up. 15 year old Calvino Inman of Tennessee actually cries blood at least three times a day. Let that sink in for a few minutes. What’s worse is right now doctors can’t figure out why this is happening. While they don’t believe there is any serious danger in the crying they can’t figure out how to stop it. Check out the news clip below to see Calvino in full action. Good luck not throwing up in your Rice Krispies.

"Transylmania", It's A Vampire Comedy!

A lot of times when I’m looking for a movie at the local video shop I see these straight to video comedies about a college at sea or some other ridiculous idea. The main focus of these seem to be a bunch of college kids getting drunk and screwing. They usually sound like a fun time to me and if I could only find a reasonable excuse to tell my wife as to why I brought something like that home I’d probably rent them.

Well the people behind “Transylmania” have finally given me an excuse. Take the same theme and toss in a few vampires. Thanks guys!

It's "Lizard Boy"!

How this one didn’t show at the Jersey State Fair is beyond me. To me it’s a no brainer to screen something like “Lizard Boy” right next to the two headed cow tent. But anyway, the film from first time director Paul Della Pelle might just be the greatest film to ever feature a seriously CGIed lizard tail on a genetically engineered bastard son. The words “ground breaking” come to mind.

Thee Minutes Of "Sorority Row"

We’re just a couple weeks away from the release of “Sorority Row” and I couldn’t be more excited. I didn’t go to a college with frats or anything so I feel like this is my one big chance to really get the full treatment. The clip below for example shows all the fun of a typical sorority party. Unprotected sex, STDs and roofies just to name a few. Really makes you think about going back to college doesn’t it?

So take a look and let us know what you think. Seems like a good time to me. “Sorority Row” will be in theaters on September 11th.

New Web Series "The Captive" Now Online

Web series are all the rage on the intertubes these days and more and more the quality of them is getting better. Are they going to kill cable TV? Probably not but seeing a series like “The Captive” getting picked up by The Sundance Channel is pretty impressive. On top of that it also features Michael Gladis of “Mad Men”. Not too shabby!

Eureka 3.15: "Shower the People"

Last week it seemed like all was fine and dandy in the town of Eureka. The mystery of the space craft had been solved, Henry had a replica of his long lost love, and Carter was about to finally get some action. The only question that was left was what the hell was going to happen next. Well I’m happy to report that the fine writers of “Eureka” took the ball and ran with it, full on.

New "Gamer" Trailer

I’m still on the fence about the film “Gamer” which hits theaters on September 4th. While I am all for a movie where you can sit back and watch crap blow up without having to think I can’t ignore the similarities to films like “Death Race” and “Running Man”. On top of that I am a big fan of Michael C. Hall after watching “Dexter” and “Six Feet Under” but his accent in this movie makes me want to punch him in the face.
