Vague Genre Movie - Ya, that's about right

Leave it to Maddox, the owner/creator of The Best Page in the Universe, to make a pretty great spoof trailer as an indictment of all of those awful, shitty, horrible, offensive "Movie" movies that have been coming out over the last few years. And, I have to agree with the poster quoted in the trailer when he says, "I hope these guys die from some type of nutsack cancer".

Residents of Nilbog calling all short filmmakers

You may or may not know that I am a huge fan of "Troll 2", considered by many to be the worst film ever made. And if you've been paying attention, you'd also know that the film's child star is criss-crossing the country as we speak putting the finishing touches on his documentary, "Best Worst Movie", which essentially celebrates the bad-movie goodness of "Troll 2".

The week of recovery is almost over

Since this week has been almost entirely spent trying to recover from the drunken hijinks of Horror Hound Weekend, I can't even tell you how relieved I am that it's over. You know when you build up to something for so long, that when it's over you feel really depressed? That's a good way to describe the funk I'm in right now. So, I thought I'd close out the week with some more pics of me and (my brother) Mark drunkenly kicking the shit out of each other.

The Cottingley Fairies - Birth of the modern hoax

The above photograph of the "Cottingley Fairies" - along with the other 4 photos found here - is said by some to be the most reproduced photograph in the history of the world. Shot by cousins Elsie Wright and Frances Griffith on the Wright's property in the UK circa 1917 (one week before the end of the first World War), the photographs seem to show the girls playing with "fairies", and in one of the pictures what appears to be a "gnome".

Wrestlemania fire video!

Thanks to site reader Zack for reminding me that if I really wanted to see the video of the Pyro accident at Sunday's Wrestlemania 24, all I had to do was go to Youtube and search "Wrestlemania Pyro Accident". Sometimes I'm just that lazy folks. Anyways, here it is, complete with hilariously inappropriate redneck laughter. No real flesh-charred carnage in either video, but they give you a pretty good idea of what happened.

Ed Sanchez positive about Seventh Moon

Good news last week for fans of Ed Sanchez's. The director, responsible for both "The Blair Witch Project" and "Altered" has almost finished his latest film "Seventh Moon", and a recent screening in front of some VIPs went very well.

"Seventh Moon" is about a honeymooning couple in China who run into supernatural terror during something known as "The Hungry Ghost Festival." The film stars the sweet ladyness that is Amy Smart, which is definitely one check in the win column.

So, Sanchez had this to say regarding the screening:

Bloody Good Hot Tub Party (Pics from HH Weekend)

As promised folks, here are some select choices from my photo collection from over this past weekend. It's safe to say when all was said and done that this weekend was LEGENDARY. We saw some great films (well, one great, another decent) and partied with great friends.

Horror Hound!

So, I totally balked on updating this all weekend folks. You can thank a combination of beer and shenanigans for that. As we speak though I'm uploading all 100 of my photos to my Flickr stream and I'll be posting a new blog with those shortly. Let's just say this, Horror Hound Weekend March 2008 was LEGENDARY. More soon.

UPDATE 1 - Friday 2:00pm

Eric again! The second flight was long as hell but thankfully no toe-fingers... so, I've got that going for me. Just got into the hotel about an hour ago and I've already had my first sighting.

Tiffany Shepis is in College?

Tiffany Shepis posted this picture to her Myspace today in a photo album titled "Spring Break" (she's the second one from the right whose breasts are being held by another girl). I had no idea she was in college (sarcasm), but I wish I had gone to this place. Bonus, she may be hosting a show on NBC soon. I'm not sure that Prime Time TV is ready for this chick.

Shepis has been hitting up the Direct to video landscape for a few years now. Her onscreen debut was in Troma's "Tromeo and Juliet". I have personally only seen her in that, and the DTV slasher sequel "Bloody Murder 2".

The Death of Blu-Ray BD+ Protection

It was announced today that "Slysoft" ( has broken the "BD+" copy protection on Blu-Ray discs. The move is especially significant because of previous inflated claims to BD+'s unhackability. Richard Doherty of the Envisioneering Group made a now infamous statement just last year claiming that it would take upward of "10 years" to crack the copy protection.
