Haunting in Connecticut Discovery Special

I had heard that the true story behind "The Haunting in Connecticut" had been turned into a TV special at some point, but hadn't taken the time out to try and find it. A reader sent this in to me today, so here it is guys. You can just have your boss bill me directly for the loss of man-hours due to you watching ALL EIGHT PARTS.

Cuba's Career Buried in "The Devil's Tomb"

Were I to stumble upon this movie, "The Devil's Tomb" on the scifi channel on a Saturday afternoon, I'm sure it would be a pretty entertaining time. Hell, even I am not above the pleasures of gratuitous gunfights set to rap/metal. The cast of this movie is absolutely unreal though, especially considering the "shot on video" look of the whole thing. Take a gander:

Cuba Gooding Jr. ... Mack
Ray Winstone ... Blakely
Ron Perlman ... Wesley
Taryn Manning ... Doc
Henry Rollins ... Fulton
Valerie Cruz ... Elissa
Bill Moseley ... Prof. Duncan

Buy the "Death Proof" Car

No, not the cool one. Sorry for the tease. I'll let the Ebay auction do the explaining. You've got 2 days left to bid on movie history people. Because after all, with the economy swirling the toilet on a daily basis, is there a more sound decision than buying a 1997 Honda Civic from an actress off of Ebay?

I think not.

Childhood Terror: "Mr. Boogedy"

During our last podcast episode I was praddling on and on about a "Boogeyman" movie I had seen as a child. I couldn't remember a lot of the details, with the exception of a few vague images left in my head. Several of our loyal listeners, being the pop culture experts that they are, were able to steer me in the right direction when it came to the film I was actually talking about. Listener T-Dog hit me up first, and informed me that the title was "Mr. Boogedy".

Ang Lee: Last House "Should Be Banned"

With the release of Dennis Iliadis' "Last House on the Left" remake, it's naturally starting up a lot of conversation regarding Wes Craven's original 1972 exploitation film. The more and more I read about it, the more apparent it's becoming that the film has quite the cult following among Hollywood's elite.

Tenney's "Brain Dead" Gets Release!

Kevin Tenney has been busy lately. First of all, he's been producing a remake of his 80's classic "Night of the Demons", which is actually looking like it will get some type of theatrical release.

Apparently he's also been working on a zombie film called "Brain Dead", and the news today is that it will be getting a limited theatrical release in just a few short weeks. March 30th, 2009 to be exact. Synopsis and trailer below:

Wes Craven on Remakes, "25/8" Plot

It seems like Wes Craven has taken a lot of flack lately from the horror community, both for the shilling nature of his Twitter feed, and his willingness to remake his own films.

And, I get that. I've always loved Craven though because of the cerebral way that he treats the genre. People forget that before going into horror films Craven was actually a Professor of Humanities. He brings an interesting viewpoint on things, whether or not they always turn out Oscar worthy.

Trailer For "Parts Unknown" !?

This is really the kind of thing for Mark and his obsession with professional wrestling, but since I know there's no way he's up this early, I figured I'd take it on myself. (I kid because I love)

This is an Indie feature called "Parts Unknown", and between the trailer and the synopsis, there shouldn't be a whole lot of selling I need to do. So, here's what you require:

Are You Ready for a Troll 2 Sequel?

Back when I interviewed Michael Paul Stephenson about his documentary "Best Worst Movie", he mentioned something in passing that at the time didn't really click with me. Here's what he said about director Claudio Fragasso, and his plans for a "Troll 2" sequel:

Trailer for Sam Raimi's "Drag Me To Hell"

Here's the trailer for Sam Raimi's "Drag Me To Hell", his supernatural film starring Allison Lohman which sees a wide release May 29th of this year.

Here's the plot from IMDB:

A loan officer ordered to evict an old woman from her home finds herself the recipient of a supernatural curse, who turns her life into a living hell. Desperate, she turns to a seer to try and save her soul, while evil forces work to push her to a breaking point.
