Teaser for Troma's "Return To the class of Nuke'Em High" will get you fired.

The most normal thing in this trailer is Ron Jeremy dressed like Jesus smoking a bong. It's almost the most "safe for work" thing about it too, consider yourself warned.

"Return to the Class of Nuke'Em High" is the latest opus from Troma's big dawg, Lloyd Kaufman. They've been using money earned from the sale of remake rights to films like "The Toxic Avenger" to fund their new movies. As far as I'm concerned as long as Lloyd is around and making true independent cinema, everything's going to be alright... Now when do I get my sequel to "Poultrygeist"??

Snapshots: "Silent Hill: Revelation"

Some images landed today from the new "Silent Hill" sequel, subtitled "Revelation", and I have to say I'm pretty on board for this. Rhada Mitchell returns, and I'm even more excited because I just found out Malcom MacDowell is in it as well. If he doesn't have a scene where he slowly turns around in a chair to reveal himself then they're doing it wrong.

Trailers: "Wrong Turn 5"? Alright, I'm back in...

I'm in for everything these days. Another "Resident Evil" film? Sure, why not. Some crappy movie on Netflix with two stars? What the hell, I have an hour and a half to kill. It's Halloween season and I say the more the merrier.

Posters: "Hypothermia" does retro right

Hard to argue against a poster design like that (click to enhance). "Hypothermia" comes out on DVD October 2nd.

“Ray Pelletier (Michael Rooker; “The Walking Dead,” Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Slither) is looking forward to a quiet weekend of ice fishing with his family at the same peaceful lake they’ve been visiting for years. Unfortunately for the Pelletiers, the obnoxious big-city father-son duo of Steve and Stevie Cote has picked the same weekend to spend at the remote frozen spot.

Trailers: Red band "Sinister" trailer is Ethan Hawkey

I shudder at the thought of having to watch another possession / demon / ghost movie this year, but then a film like "Sinister" comes along with its spooky trailers and makes me doubt myself. This is a new "Red Band" trailer for the film, which this gem of a Youtube commenter describes nicely...

"i like when that red screen pop up at the beginning of a movie. It means the business is gonna be serious"

Couldn't have said it better myself. "Sinister" hits theaters October 12th.

Carpenter's "Halloween" coming back to theaters

Years ago I saw John Carpenter's "Halloween" on the big screen, sort of... I showed up to the screening incredibly excited, but was quickly disillusioned when I realized what I was watching was a DVD of the film projected on the big screen. The end product of this was a muddy, dark picture with terrible sound. Needless to say, I'm eager to wipe that experience from my memory.

THE LONG VERSION:

You may have noticed some funky things going on with our podcast feed recently. Long story short, we've had a large influx of new listeners over the last year, and the resulting crunch on our bandwidth has hit us pretty hard. It's why, for a while, you could only find one lonely new episode in the feed at a time.

Win this awesome Michael Myers mask!

Want the ultimate Halloween costume? The fine people over at HalloweenCostumes.com are offering up one of these babies to a lucky Bloody Good Horror reader. What you see here is a hand-made, screen accurate replica of the mask worn by Dick Warlock in 1981's "Halloween 2".

Trailers: "Branded" looks good if you can ignore the QR codes

"Branded" is a classic case of the marketing department refusing to get out of the way of its material. Here you have what looks like an intensely weird film skewering consumer culture and the mind-control game of advertising. Think "Wall-E" meets "They Live" (no, seriously). Instead of letting the trailer speak for itself, they've decided to make a marketing campaign featuring over 100 QR codes that will lead you, presumably?... to clips and screenshots. It's 2010's greatest idea.

Gaming: Stuff gets real in "Metro: Last Light"

"Metro: Last Light" is a first person shooter, and sequel to "Metro 2033", that will see release for PC, XBOX and PS3 early next year. The plot for the dark actioner goes like this:

Beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, the remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside – and within.
